- About Me:
- I live in Waconia, Minnesota with my husband and our six year-old miniature goldendoodle, Max, our eight year-old goldendoodle, Mimzy, and our almost 2 year-old daughter, Malorie. I am a Special Education teacher in an adolescent day treatment program. We love spending time outdoors with our daughter and doodles!
- What Type of Doodle(s) do you have? What are their names? Tell us about your doodle(s) or any other pets you have!
- We have a six year-old miniature goldendoodle named Max. He also answers to his nickname "Doods". We also adopted a standard goldendoodle four years ago. She is eight years-old now and her name is Mimzy. We typically call her "Mimz" or "Mimzical".
- Where did you get your doodle(s)?
- Breeder, Rescue
- Why did you choose a doodle rather than another breed or mix?
- Before I decided to get Max, I knew someone with a goldendoodle who I absolutely loved. I had never even heard of goldendoodles before that. I fell in love with the breed. I knew that I needed to have a goldendoodle! Then, before adopting Mimzy, I had decided I really wanted a second goldendoodle. I searched for months for goldendoodles on rescue sites. Finally, in December 2011, I found Mimzy. We went to meet her with Max, and fell in love with her!
- What are Your Favorite Things to Do With Your Doodles?
- I love to go on walks with Max and Mimzy. We also play a lot of fetch outside. Max and Mimzy love to play with lots of toys too. Max and Mimzy love other dogs so we are always setting up playdates with their canine friends for them to run around and wrestle! We also love to take them to dog parks and swimming!
- Does your doodle(s) shed?
- Nope!
- Who grooms your doodle(s)?
- I bring Max and Mimzy to a groomer.
- Favorite Doodle Products?
- We feed them Earthborn Holistic food. My favorite hair brush for them is a Chris Christensen. Max and Mimzy love treats. I try to stick to treats that are all natural and grain-free. They love chicken jerky strips.

Yeap, the pink jacket is very cute on doodles, isn't it? It was a x-mas present from a friend of ours.
We find that Willow's itching got gradually less when we put her on Claritin (generic from Walgreens), probably 2 weeks or so. If you haven't tried, we found goat milk soap for dogs and Buddy Clean shampoo worked better than Tropiclean Oatmeal formula.
Hope Max and Mimzy go through spring without much allergy!
