- About Me:
- We are two dog loving folks who have always had dogs. After 20 years of Malamutes we switched breeds in 2008 and got a labradoodle. The sweet Mals just didn't live long enought. Bruce is retired as of April 2011 and Claudia is a psychotherapist in SF. We live in Marin and love all the great opportunities for outdoor life and culture in the Bay Area.
- What Type of Doodle(s) do you have? What are their names? Tell us about your doodle(s) or any other pets you have!
- We have a 35# Labradoodle Lola who is a curly girl and is supposed to be red but is more blond/tan. We also have a cat Lottie, born in 1997 who has mothered our malamutes and now Lola.
- Where did you get your doodle(s)?
- Breeder
- Why did you choose a doodle rather than another breed or mix?
- We wanted a dog that was long lived but not too small. Our vet suggested a poodle but they aren't as sweet as we would like. A labradoodle seemed perfect. Also, Claudia, being a therapist wanted a dog she could take to her office and also to eventually do the "therapy Dog" training with so that she could go to hospitals and nursing homes.
- What are Your Favorite Things to Do With Your Doodles?
- Snuggle snuggle snuggle. This is the most snuggly dog we have ever had. Of course she's fun to hike with and she adores the water. Summers up at Echo Lake are our favorite times with Lola. In Claudia's therapy office Lola is very sensitive and is a big help with people dealing with phobias especially.
