About Me:: I am married to Tony and we live in Houston. Our Doodle, Sammy, is our only child.

What Type of Doodle(s) do you have? What are their names? Tell us about your doodle(s) or any other pets you have!: Sammy is a cream Labradoodle born 10-02-09. He's actually a tow head with golden color on his ears and down his back. He has green eyes and a sparkling personality. Everyone who meets him falls in immediate love with him. Needless to say, he's an ice breaker. We take him everywhere we can, to family's homes, the dog park, and on vacation. I look forward to spending time with him every day.

Why did you choose a doodle rather than another breed or mix?: We thought they sounded like the perfect dog. And, it seems, they are.

What are Your Favorite Things to Do With Your Doodles?: Go for long walks. Go to family's houses and let him play with the kids and the other dogs, and even the cat. Riding in the car. Playing fetch. Teaching him new tricks. My favorite thing of all is that he has become something of a lap dog at times now that he's older. I love holding him and cuddling him. And I love that he's always with me in the house.

Who grooms your doodle(s)?: We do. With a rake and the Wahl groomer for summer cut.

Favorite Doodle Products?: Cow ears; he chews like nobody's business. The harness for the car that straps onto the seatbelt.

At 3:40pm on May 24, 2010, Beth Lord said…: Hi there Charmaine! So nice to see one of Alfie's siblings!! :-) Alfie was "orange boy" in the litter. I remember loving "cream boy" (he wasn't "Sammy" yet!) when we visited the litter too though. :-) That is so funny how he carries stuff around. Alfie's the same way, and does Sammy "fetch" naturally too? Alfie does -- with lots of puppies you have to teach it to them but as my husband said, the fetching software came pre-loaded with Alfie, haha! We are missing him right now -- our guide dog organization is doing a "puppy swap" so we've got a huge black German Shepherd pup for a few weeks and Alfie is off with another puppy raiser family. I've had a couple of emails that seem to indicate he's doing great for them. :-) Looking forward to hearing more about Sammy, especially as he grows up!

He has a friend next door. She is almost 2 years old. She is a Golden; she is bigger than Jett but she has always played nicely with him. Are you going to the Georgetown Doodle Romp? I would love to go but too far from San Diego!
