Hi Cyndi, Thanks for replying so fast. Sadie is very friendly and likes new people so it must be each dog has a predisposition. She does go to puppy playgroup 2x a week where she has learned to play with puppies and be with other people. And, we went to Puppy Kindergarten also. The trainer at the puppy place is really big on getting puppies socialized to everything. So as soon as I brought Sadie home I had lots of people coming to my house to see her. Training is really fun for the dogs and the owners learn alot (I did).
You have the opposite problem of what most encounter. Most can get the poop outside but the pee-pee seems to be the most problematic during the potty-training phase.
Once she is done eating be sure to get her out for at least 10-20 minutes. If she does not go poop then I would put her back in her crate and then try her again in 15 minutes or so. Repeat this until she goes poop - usually after they eat you will be successful if you do the outside and crate method until she does finally go. I also find that with some of my pups that when they go outside they can lose focus by becomming side-tracked, Sometimes a nice puppy play pen in the potty area can help keep them contained in one spot so that they can focus and thus do their business =) - Let me know how it goes!
