Our little Olive of 12 weeks wants to jump up on everyone, what are you doing to prevent this? Thanks :)JeanneContinue

About Me:
Singer, songwriter and artist who would be lost without a dog to love. I am totally enjoying Olive and hope she becomes the dog I can share everyplace I go. I miss my Golden Retriever, "Rosey" and know she can not be replaced but realize all dogs are different and though Olive has given me a new understanding of the word, PATIENCE, I love her to pieces! What a funny dog!
Spring is on it's way and sun and surf await us!
What Type of Doodle(s) do you have? What are their names? Tell us about your doodle(s) or any other pets you have!
Olive was previously owned by a family that couldn't keep her do to the size she was going to be. ( she moved in to our home at a bit over 12 weeks)

She is such fun! She is supposed to be about 65 lbs when full grown, we will see
Where did you get your doodle(s)?
Rehome
Why did you choose a doodle rather than another breed or mix?
Have always loved them, just stumbled upon this sweet little girl. I think I needed her more than she needed me at the time and I am grateful she is in my life now. I like the idea that she may not shed as our last dog did. We will see. :)
What are Your Favorite Things to Do With Your Doodles?
Taking her to the beach and watching her in a full on run! I love showing her off as everyone wants to touch her, even if she is still jumping, we work on that each day in hopes it soon will end. We have also started training her, this is very interesting! I love how mellow she is when she wakes and how she just wants to cuddle, that is a sweet thing I enjoy.
Does your doodle(s) shed?
Nope!
Who grooms your doodle(s)?
Would like to learn to do it myself someday? We just get her trimmed a bit now.

Did I ever respond to your questions about the bike tow leash(BTL)?  Did you try it?  No, there is no problem about pulling your bike over even with a large dog because the center of gravity is on the back tire.  Harpo will pull the leash over the tire and change sides on me, but I just stop and readjust him.  My problem is with too small dogs.  We have a 25-pound Jackapoo that we haven't tried on the BTL yet because he is too hyper.  Maybe this summer.

Loving Olive who turned a year old in November. We are still trying hard to keep her from eating any tiny thing she sees or finds on the floor. Off leash she is fun and playful, on leash she wants to jump on everyone she meets. Back to Training in the new year. I want to take her everywhere but still just too much puppy at 60 lbs!

Watching your photo slide show click by is like watching many of my own photos of Kona click by!  Wow!  Olive is just a bigger version of my little cartoon boy!  (Kona is only 24 pounds at 9 months and has been this weight for several months, so I think he is almost full grown now!)  But I'm LOVING your slide show.   It would be fun to see them together.

Jeanne, red is the hardest color to 'keep' - just ask a beautician! :-]    Reds almost always fade.  Some of the lighter apricots fade to cream!  My apricot guy has lost darker red parts except for his eyelashes and muzzle and his apricot has lightened up quite a bit.  My cream and apricot guy probably was apricot all over when he was a puppy (we didn't get him until age 2).

Thanks for the friend request Jeanne!  I am so glad Olive did well with her surgery and I totally understand the "getting out"!  Libby loves her walks and if for any reason we can't do it, oh my, she lets us know she is not happy!  LOL  So nice to be friends with you on this "amazing" site!

Hi Jeanne...Thanks for the Friend invite.  Olive looks a lot like Gracie Doodle did at that age.  Gracie is an F1 (first generation 50/50) Goldendoodle.  She has very soft fine hair.  It is wavy in some spots and curly in others.  She is what is called a wavy fleece coat.  No shedding and she does not have that heavy dense or thick hair that some doodles have.  There are just so many hair types that it is hard to say.  She is adorable and your love for her will just grow and grow!

So sorry for your loss! I lost my Golden to cancer last March. Kind of a common story here on DK unfortunately :-( Goldendoodles are a wonderful breed! They are not All shed free but they do shed less than the retrievers. Are you interested in the mini's or the standard size? Or something in between? Goldendoodles come in all colors and sizes so there is something for everyone! This is a great website to get information! Welcome to DoodleKisses!!!
