So, Marci tells me that you want a female--now that you know more a bout breeders and the breed, it is just a matter of waiting for the right pup! Maybe it will be one of Lyric's! 

Marci just emailed me that one male is available for $2000 but you would have to fill out an application (on her website) and be approved--all good breeders do that. Maybe it is too soon for you anyway.

My Lyric will be having pups for Marci this winter (see her on the Females page of the website) and her last litter had many pups in the 35-40 pound range. The dad was Bossa Nova and Jasper (Tango Wool Razzle Dazzle on the male page) was in that litter. 

He is a real cutie-- and weighs about 40-45 pounds

Jeff--this is very important!! When you find a site that has the name of the state like Vermont Labradoodle breeders--it is a scam!! It is a puppy mill! They have one like that for every state--they put a pic of a puppy up, the person pays for it and then gets a totally different puppy (and frankly, the pup in that link is not very nice looking! Do not believe this website!! Look for a real breeder--a person and a family with dogs. There is one in southern Maine too--Anabelle Labradoodles--she has lovely dogs too.

Mattie had a black nose until 1 year old and then it changed! She was also much blonder and the red came in later. Puppy coats change color--most times they get lighter--Here is a puppy pic of her with my hubby when she was 7 months old.

I do groom her myself and groom other doodles too--so maybe I am more likely to take her pic after a grooming! LOL! But she is so easy to do that I groom her about every 2 months or so. I think most doodles need a haircut every 3 months or so if they have easy coats. I think Dolce and Salsa are similar in terms of maintenance to Mattie.

Marci thought all these pups were taken so they are not on the website--They did not all that small to me--I thought she said that they would be in the 30 pound range--the info about each dog on her website is not always up to date. I think she told me this morning that there were two available--I will email her and ask. And I will get a price while I am at it. 

Marci bought Mattie from another breeder (no longer in business) to breed her, but her hip score was lower than Marci likes, so we spayed her. There are no other pups that are related to Mattie at Marci's.

Yes, Mattie is easy and if that is the look you want an F1 or a straighter coated pup from a later generation is what you want. Many breeders have them and can tell you what they will look like generally based on the puppy coat. Tango Wool has a very cute bunch of pups right now out of Dolce that have straighter coats like their dad--who I believe is Salsa on her page. They are red to apricot (and yes a red lab is a redder yellow lab--more common down south). I think she has two available and they are ready to go in a week! Contact her for more info. and tell her Ginny sent you. I do not think she has pics of them on her site. I am adding a few to the end of this message--i was just at her place on Wednesday and took a few pics.

By the way, these quality multigen pups are not cheap--be prepared to pay over $2000 since the parents are health tested--you might pay less for an F1and Marci has also lowered prices sometimes for straighter coated pups too since they might shed a bit more. My Mattie sheds a bit, but NOTHING like a lab would--just little dust bunnies of red hair here and there. These guys will have big waves and should be pretty easy to maintain.
