About Me:: My parents got me my goldendoodle, named Owen. They agreed to help me take care of him. This is because I have chronic daily migraines & knew I couldn't care for Owen by myself, or give him the life he deserves. I live with my parents, who help take care of me. They have a goldendoodle named Kona, who is Owen's half brother. The doodles bring much entertainment, joy, love, and fun to my life.

I have not been able to work for the past four years, due to the daily migraines, but I am a Marriage & Family Therapist and Art Therapist. My heart is working with at-risk youth. Through my health struggle, I've learned a lot about gratefulness, God, peace, trust, friendships, and family.

What Type of Doodle(s) do you have? What are their names? Tell us about your doodle(s) or any other pets you have!: My goldendoodle, Owen, is a male, born Sept 2, 2010. He is cream colored with apricot trim....I'm pretty sure "trim" is not the correct term, but I'm not sure what to call it :o)

Owen is very cute & funny, but acts like a junior high boy. It's a good thing he's so funny, because he's pretty naughty. We went through a beginner's training class and graduated from a canine good citizen class. Owen was always the star student but seems to forget everything he learned when he's outside of class. When he's naughty, I sometimes remind him that "this is not the behavior of a canine good citizen."

We need to train more often, but it's difficult for me to be consistent. My dad takes Owen and my parent's dog, Kona, for off-leash runs every morning. My mom grooms Owen & gives him all the motherly attention he needs. Owen is my wonderful migraine dog. He spends hours in bed with me, snuggling. Owen loves his kennel in my room. In the evening, some nights, he gets over-tired, acts a little crazy & then takes himself upstairs to his kennel for bed. He cracks me up!

Why did you choose a doodle rather than another breed or mix?: I had two golden retrievers who both died (of natural causes) within 3 years of each other. My parents had gotten a goldendoodle during that time, who is perfect, so I was a convert.

What are Your Favorite Things to Do With Your Doodles?: the beach, outdoor cafes, training, snuggling in bed

Who grooms your doodle(s)?: My mother - yea! I just stand there to keep him from jumping off the table or eating hair (GROSS).

Favorite Doodle Products?: Elk antlers, chuck-it
Owen's favorite toy is any bath towel
