Thank you for the friend invite! Looking at Charlie's adorable photos, I would say my Cooper and Charlie could be twins. Cooper has short legs and a bit of a long body. But when he sets his mind to it and he runs like the wind! Someone compared him to a Dandy Dinmont terrier once, but his legs are definitely NOT that short.
Clancy and Charlie's personalities even sound similar! Clancy is most likely from California (his records show that he was neutered at the shelter he was rescued from), but ...... "They" say that there can be orthopedic anomalies when you mix a very small dog and a large one. Perhaps in our guys' case that means short legs and stocky build. Clancy has been very healthy since we got him at two (he is 5 now).
I enjoyed viewing the pictures. Clancy is a rescue that we got when he turned two so I don't have puppy pictures. This lets me know that he was probably apricot also. His tail is still quite dark but his ears have faded quite a bit. Now he just looks like he has dark apricot frosting. He is quite a bit bigger than Charlie but they both do have the stockier retriever build. This picture really shows Clancy's stockiness:
Thanks! So nice to be friends with you on such a special site! Your slide show is adorable and the picture with Charlie in the snow and the one with the baby is soooo cute!
There you go! Brothers under the skin - er - should I say fur. :-} I can't wait to see more pictures of Charlie. Be sure to let me know when you put more on your page.
I think Charlie and my Clancy look a lot alike. Is Charlie short but large boned like your profile picture appears to me? Clancy is short - only 19" tall but very large boned - he weighs 64 pounds and it isn't fat but stature.
