Hi Karen, I just looked at the one breeder Shelbydoodles, and I would strongly advise you not to purchase any puppy from this breeder. There is no mention of genetic health testing on her dogs, and her information about hybrid vigor in the F1 generations is completely false. There are dozens of genetic diseases that Springers and Poodles have in common, and if the breeding dogs are not tested for these prior to breeding, the puppies can get those diseases just as easily as if both parents were the same breed. For example, both breeds are susceptible to PRA, a serious incurable eye disease. If each parent passes a gene for PRA to the offspring, the puppy will have PRA. Responsible breeders test their breeding dogs for PRA, HD, and many other diseases before breeding them, so as not to bring puppies into the world with a chance of developing a serious disease. Many of our doodles here have genetic diseases. My own guy is an F1, and he has two different genetic diseases which are incurable and cost me thousands per year to treat.

Please make sure you see proof of genetic testing on the parents of any puppy you consider.
