What Type of Doodle(s) do you have? What are their names? Tell us about your doodle(s) or any other pets you have!
We have one beautiful 80 lb "puppy" (8 months old) named Ben. We picked him from a litter in Ohio, and his best friend is our 5 year old black lab named Bud.
Ben is an apricot color large English Goldendoodle, Mom was a rust standard Poodle and dad was a large solid white English Golden retriever.
Where did you get your doodle(s)?
Breeder
Why did you choose a doodle rather than another breed or mix?
Saw a friends labradoodle, and also showing homes ran into a few...so smart and easy to train.
What are Your Favorite Things to Do With Your Doodles?
We play, train and enjoy the yard. Dog park every day with my retired husband....playing with grandkids and learning-teaching, new things every day! He is so smart !
Does your doodle(s) shed?
Nope!
Who grooms your doodle(s)?
We bathe him every few weeks....Eva in Wilsonville, Oregon has groomed his eye are, chin and feet....areas that needed it...the rest is long and beautiful....I brush him often.

Welcome to DK! I know you have been here for a while, but it seems I have been slacking in welcoming and doing what I should be. I was at the Portland, Doodle Romp and it was great to see Ben, but didn't know it was him, until just now, I was able to connect the dots. I live in Milwaukie, would love to get together and let the dogs romp and visit sometime. Dublin, Jena and our lagotto Chetti!
I know Portland gets a lot of rain, but I read that Columbus, Ohio actually has fewer sunny days than Portland on average. I believe it..It's always miserable and dreary here.
I think I am going to retire to the Bend, Ore area...it is more desert-like there. That's a ways off though.
I see that fast moving river in the background of the photo....that does look very swift! Too swift for doodles.
I use the Les Poochs brushes that I sell at my Doodle Country Store, You can see them on my website. I use the Green variety for all of my doodles....the Purple variety is recommended for the thicker long-length coat, but if Ben doesn't have an undercoat you could use the Green brush as well. The green brush is flexible so it won't feel uncomfortable for him. :-)
I haven't heard of the breeder, but that's not unusual...there's so many doodle breeders these days...such a popular breed. Mine are all labradoodles. Ben is absolutely one of the most gorgeous doodles I have seen....he looks like a big polar bear! LOL You keep him groomed perfectly, great job!!
Yes, I do enjoy gardening, I'm just waiting for it to dry out a little bit before I start in again, we've had so much rain lately and the ground is rather muddy. :-(
Hi Kathleen,
I'm not familiar with DF Breedersin in Ohio, but thank you for asking. I see you live in Portland, OR...that's my favorite city!!...I plan to live there someday or at least in Oregon somewhere...I like Bend, Oregon...we vacationed there last year. :-)

Hi.
Love Ben, long or short. What a sweetie. I live in Ohio and was wondering where in Ohio Ben was from?
