Thanks Deborah!  Nice to see you here!  I guess I need to be more involved.  So here I am reconnecting with people that love what I love (doodles).

Thanks Deborah!  I have been on doodlekisses for a few years but not on this group.  In fact I didn't know there was a short hair doodle group until last night.  I was so glad to see you all.  My search for another group is working out great!!!

Maybe I should tell you a bit about my family.  I am 60 and married.  Kevin is my husband.  We also have Buddy a border collie lab mix and about 10.  Buddy is a rescue and the best choice we could have made.  Tia is my service dog and she is 7 years and 7 months.  Tia is more lab than poodle in her looks.  We picked Tia because being short haired and not very curly she would take less grooming.  We did not get her to be a service dog but from 3 months old she noticed my needs and knew what to do.  We didn't train her until she was 2 years old due to money or the lack of.  Tia trained quickly and I have not regretted it at all.  My husband is a mechanic and I am a homemaker.  Well that is all, I hope it helps you know me better.  Thanks!

Hi Kathy!  I'm glad to see you here on doodlekisses.  I think it is perfectly fine, in fact perfect, for Tia to be in the short hair doodle group.  :)

I see that this is for doodle owners that keep their doodle's hair short.  Can it also be for doodles that are less poodle and so their hair doesn't get very long?  I still have to keep Tia's beard and mustache and ears short or they look scruffy.  I am having a tough time hand trimming Tia and often end up with her looking like a lab instead of a doodle.  Nothing wrong with the lab look but I love Tia's beard and mustache and ears, just not really long and scraggly!  I hope we will fit in here.  Thanks

Deborah, your doods look great with their new haircuts & matching bandanas!

I have three doodles and have enough trouble with training and activities that I can't spend hours brushing them. I also like to see their bodies! When Penny runs an agility course, I see her muscles bunching and moving, not just a big bunch of fur. Wayne swims and would be a big matted mess if his hair was long. And, finally, with all the ice and snow, I would be continually thawing out their legs this year!

They were recently all groomed. None of them like the camera flash so they look like a bunch of very somber doodles. :)
