I am self employed; half time hair stylist and half time artist. I have two daughters and have been married for 27 years. I love to ride my bike and plan to cycle across Canada one day.
What Type of Doodle(s) do you have? What are their names? Tell us about your doodle(s) or any other pets you have!
I have a black Labradoodle named Alice. She's almost 5 months old, very friendly, funny, happy, gentle, and jumpy.
Where did you get your doodle(s)?
Breeder
Why did you choose a doodle rather than another breed or mix?
I cut hair. I have a cat that sheds. I just don't want to deal with more hair! We wanted a medium to large sized dog but I did not want to put up with the shedding.
What are Your Favorite Things to Do With Your Doodles?
Puppy training is lots of fun but mostly we like to play. Snuggling is fun too! My daughter Mika is 13 years old and Alice is her very best friend. A godsend really.
Does your doodle(s) shed?
Nope!
Who grooms your doodle(s)?
A groomer.
Favorite Doodle Products?
the KONG! which we use for management. I think Alice would say (if she could talk) that her favourite toy is a stuffed ducky.

I've always given my dogs the same thing I gave my kids for long or curvey car rides--a couple of ginger snap cookies. This is an old trick I learned as a camp counselor for kids driving up mountain roads in a bus. The ginger spice is a natural deterrant for any kind of motion sickness. Ginger tea works as well, but of course cookies are easier. Clooney & I drove up thru Big Sur on PCH 1 (very, very curvey) without a mishap.
Try it--works like a charm!
HI LINDA,
WE HAD A SIMILAR PROBLEM WITH RILEY. HE WOULD DROOLE TERRIBLY WHEN GOING FOR A RIDE AND HE THREW UP ON TWO OCCASIONS. WHAT WORKED FOR US IS I SAT IN THE BACK SEAT WITH HIM AND JUST KEPT HIM VERY CALM AND TALKED TO HIM, ETC. HE IS MUCH BETTER NOW. I ALSO WOULD GET INTO THE CAR FIRST AND THEN PUT A TREAT ON THE SEAT AND HE WOULD JOIIN ME. THE OTHER DAY I SAT IN THE FRONT PASSESGER SEAT AND JUST PUT MY HAND IN THE BACK SEAT SO HE WOULD FEEL CALMER. HE DROOLED A TINY BIT, BUT IS MUCH BETTER. WHEN I TRAVEL ALONE WITH HIM, HE SITS ON THE FRONT PASSENGER SEAT AND I HARNESS HIM IN SO HE CAN'T GO ANYWHERE AND I CAN PET HIM TO KEEP HIM CALM. SO I GUESS YOU KIND OF HAVE TO FIGURE OUT IF HE IS ANXIOUX OR NAUSIOUS. GOOD LUCK. HEIDI
