We are new doodle owners. We have always had Schnauzers, but I have wanted a doodle for about 10 years now. We have a daughter who is almost 3 and I was able to convince my husband to get a doodle when I told him that she "needed" a doggie of her own :)
What Type of Doodle(s) do you have? What are their names? Tell us about your doodle(s) or any other pets you have!
Miles is a Goldendoodle from Dae Shar's Doodles in Deer Park WA. He is almost 4 months old and growing every day!! We also have a Schnauzer names Charlie and he is 8. They are best buds and play all the time.
Where did you get your doodle(s)?
Breeder
Why did you choose a doodle rather than another breed or mix?
I first found out about Doodles 10 years ago from a news story about them in Australia. I have done research ever since and dreamed of the day that I could get one of my own.
What are Your Favorite Things to Do With Your Doodles?
We like walks. Since he is so young we have gone to dog parks yet, but we are a member of the Seattle Labradoodle and Goldendoodle Romps group that meets every month @ Magnuson Park in Seattle. We are hoping to go this month to meet new friends.
Thank you so much for the info!! We went to Marymoore dog park last weekend and ran into a couple doodles and their owners. All of their owners were so informative and had nothing bad to say about the breed. The dogs that we met were so gentle around our girls and very well behaved. Unfortunately this Saturday is not good for us but I am definitely going to put the doodle romp on my calendar for next month. Thank you so much! Miles looks like a sweetie!! Have you taken him to any training classes? If so, do you recommend the place that you took him? Thank you.
Just got back from vacation. Our boy travels well! Tucker doesn't nip or mouth a great deal, though I have noticed a bit of an increase since he started losing puppy teeth. His favorite thing to chew on is a washcloth that we rinse, roll up and freeze. The issue that is driving us nuts is that Tuck is so vocal- barks at everything- and sometimes nothing!! Seems usually just for the sheer joy of it. We've tried zapping him with a squirt bottle full of water, but he seems to rather enjoy it. I'm not wanting him in the backyard much cuz I'm afraid he'll drive the neighbors crazy! Any advice? Poor guy gets neutered on Friday- don't know if that will make a difference in all the vocalization?
What a great looking pup you have! We got Tucker as an 8 week old on June 6th. (My daughter holding him in our profile pic...) We are Americans living in Canada. We started considering a puppy after a recent move- our 11 year old was so homesick. We used to live in Silverdale just across the water from you. I worked as an NICU nurse at Tacoma General Hospital for a long time. We still love the whole Seattle area. Do you know how much Miles weighs? I'd be interested to compare since ours are similar ages. Tucker is about 19 pounds now.
Your husband is from Prunetuk? What a coincidence is that? Yes, we are also delighted with our doodles and can't imagine life without them. We just got back from a walk at Salinas River Beach and dinner to Phil's Fish House in Moss Landing. I'll bet your husband knows those places.
Another one of Sharon's pups! Groucho Too is also from her group. His father is Groucho and most of Groucho's puppies look just like him, hence the name Groucho Too.
Welcome to Doodle Kisses Lisa! I'm in WA too...Walla Walla. Miles looks like a cutie pie! Have a look around, there are fun groups to join -- you might like the Pacific Northwest group and the Puppy Madness group..look forward to lots of Miles photos!
