Awe, poor girl! :( What was wrong with her knee? Seeing her little naked body in that pic., I think that surgeon needs glasses. She looks the perfect size to me - anything less and she'd be scrawny. She's a beautiful doodlegirl!
Thank you. My doodles are beautiful but the only photos I take are with my phone so that doesn't really capture them. I envy the talented photographers on this site. Both Kristina and Sunny are wonderful subjects for your skills!
I got your message about poor Sunny. Did your vet say she definitely completely tore her CCL? If it is completely torn I was told surgery is the only option for a large dog. If it's partially torn I was told you can try rehab. Dex is almost 9 weeks post op (we opted for the fishing line surgery rather than TPLO) and is doing well. He has been allowed to go on walks for about 2 weeks now. He has a slight limp now and most of his limp is when he first stands up. We definitely notice progress every week.
The decison on the type of surgery was tough for us. Our vet said we could opt for either since he's under 80 lbs. She said many vets insist on TPLO. It is all so overwhelming, but as of now we do not have any regret on the surgery we chose.
The first 2 weeks after surgery were tough but it's been pretty easy since. Dex has taken to his crate and is content to sleep a lot :) Good luck and please let me know if you have any questions.
I was going to mention something to you about the spelling too! You don't see only one L too often. I do photography also and I just love your pictures. You do a really great job.
Welcome to DoodleKIsses. I love your profile photo! I grew up in Green Bluff and my goldendoodle is from Deer Park, so I guess we are kind of family. Post some more fotos when you get a chance (and some more great photos). You must be into photography and Adobe Photoshop.
