Hi Patti-how exciting that little Hanna is almost home! The pics that you have posted of her look ALOT like Molly....especially that cute blocky head! Molly is 10 mos old now..she was born on Jan 17th. She was one of the smaller females when we picked her, and she is about 55 lbs now. Enjoy every minute...you'll come home after being away a few hours and swear that she has grown! It goes so fast! I'm looking forward to seeing the pics that you post of Hanna. Let me know if you need anything, and enjoy the new adventure that awaits!

Hi Patti~ found your l thread while navigating the site, and saw that you are getting an Ireland and MacQueen pup.  I have the sister of Teddy...her name is Molly...and she just turned 6 mos old.  I, too, cannot say enough about this puppy and the great dogs that Christy breeds.  Molly is sweet, mellow,  and smart.  And she doesn't shed AT ALL.  (We got lucky with that!)  We  originally thought we wanted a male dog, but Ireland didn't have too many in that litter, and by the time we picked the males were all taken. In retrospect, we like the fact that she isn't really big, and the sex didn't really matter as we weren't going to breed anyway. We couldn't be happier.  She is definitely a retriever, and she fetched a ball the first day we brought her home at 8 weeks old.  She was housebroken within a couple of months or so, and we took her to obedience classes right away and she was the youngest (and best) one in the class. We have taken her on two roadtrips for several days each (starting when she was 14 weeks old,)  and she travels like a champ.  You have made a great choice with one of these puppies!  Enjoy!

I am soooooo excited for you.  I personally know Graciedoodle (Nancie Casey) and have met at least 4 other doodles from Christy's and each one of them is just gorgeous in looks and in personality.  Some people really, really have a preference which is fine.  My order of preferences would be health, temperament (mellow, social), coat (non-shedding but easy care - unlike Ned, but exactly like Graciedoodle), color, and lastly, sex.

I had mostly female dogs growing up and our first two family dogs were female so I was sure that was what I wanted next.   Our next dog, Simon, was a pup being offered through a rescue organization and he was the only one of his litter that was a beautiful golden color (lab/Australian shepherd mix) and so we ended up with a male. The next puppy was a Springer Spaniel and only a male was left so we added him to Simon.   Then we fell in love with Ned (I was yearning for the red female but it was dh's turn to choose and Ned just charmed the socks off us so..).  Then Ned and I met Clancy at a fund raiser for Mary Roberts Pet Adoption Center and fell in love.  Of my males, only Clancy lifts his leg and marks outside some. Actually I don't think sex really matters much if you neuter them fairly early.  If you do a research of some past discussions, you will find that others have asked this and people have pretty much said the same thing.  Some females become aggressive and territorial, some males do. Some males lift their legs at maturity and some mark.  I think some females eat poop.  "Snuggleness" is either sex.  I guess my advice is to state your preference but make sure that it is not the main reason you choose.  Funny for me is white! I never ever wanted a white dog, especially a dirt magnet doodle.  Well...... Clancy is not white exactly, but only because he has lots of red in his undercoat.  I never wanted to get a heavily shedding dog again either and Clancy sheds a lot. So you will also grow to love whatever you choose and end up with....

Thank you.   Finally there is another dk member in Riverside.  We do have doodles here but no others who belong do dk. I am as nuts about doodles as one can get so please keep me posted as things develop.  What breeder did you finally decide to use? Do you have a sex and color preference?

Patti, just checking in to see how you are doing.  You seem to be working your way around the site very well.  Have you selected your pup yet?

Teddy doesn't shed at all. He is also very mellow for being a puppy so we got lucky with him. Yes, he does have puppy madness moments, but he is great. He was very easy to train too because it took him less than a day to learn a new command. We also have been taking him to socialize with other puppies at Petco on weekends so that has helped him be more confident around other dogs. I could go on and on about this awesome dog.

Thanks, Patti! I thought of how Teddy would eventually end up looking like a bear and named him that way. I'm excited for you to get a puppy from Ireland and Macqueen. Teddy is amazing. Super smart and just the bet dog ever. You will love your new puppy!

Welcome to DoodleKisses.  If you are getting your puppy from Christy you will not regret it. I have my 5 year old F1 Standard Gracie Doodle and she came from Christy.  She breeds the best pups ever.  The other Nancy (Ned & Clancy) who just welcomed you comes down to San Diego all the time and the Doodles all go to the beach and we have a great time.  We also meet up at romps between here and there.  Once your baby is old enough to come out and play you will need to join up with us!  I can hardly wait to see pictures!

Welcome fellow Riversider! Tell me more about the pup you are waiting for. This is a great place to share about doodles. There are many groups that you can join. For example, there are groups for grooming, nutrition, health/medical, types of doodles, puppy groups etc. Look at the top of your page and click on Groups - check them out. Enjoy!patriotic ned and clancy
