- I'm a CPA in Jacksonville, Florida. My husband & I are in practice together & have a son. We have two Labradoodles who have stolen our hearts.

- Snickers is a medium/standard apricot Australian Labradoodle, born 4/24/12. Duke is a black & grey toy American Labradoodle, born 9/2012.

- Why did you choose a doodle rather than another breed or mix?
- After our Labs died, we wanted our next dog(s) to have Lab personalities in smaller, non-shedding packages. Our Doodles fit the bill on every front!
- What are Your Favorite Things to Do With Your Doodles?
- Our dogs go to the office with us every day & travel with us when we go out of town. They love walks, running like wild boys in yard & lounging on their couch with their chew toys.

- Nope!

- Groomer, with regular brushing & ear cleaning by me.

And please don't waste your time or money on blood or saliva tests, they are pretty much worthless. There is also no accurate test for food allergies.

Hi Samina, the Atopic Dermatitis Support Group is really intended for people whose dogs have already been diagnosed with allergies by a veterinary dermatology specialist. It is really essential that you consult a derm specialist to get some relief for Snickers. GP vets really are not qualified to diagnose or treat allergies, just as your pediatrician would refer you to an allergy specialist if your child had allergies. A consultation with a specialist is really the only way to know for sure what the issues are and treat them. Allergies are a disease of the immune system and cannot be cured, only managed. But you have to know what you are dealing with in order to do that. In severe cases, the dog must either be tested and then put on immunotherapy, or put on immunosuppressive drugs.

Welcome Samina! You chose your Doodle for the same reasons alot of us did. A prior beloved (but large & shedding) dog. Look around and join a few groups her. There's something for almost every interest! Puppy Madness is a good place to start. See you soon!
