I wrote that I'm glad that you both are okay after the storm, Laura and Sherri. We are in Massachusetts for half of the year and haven't been down yet to check on the house ourselves. Since we are in the process of finishing up a huge renovation project, our contractor boarded up the house and reported to us afterwards that everything was okay -- despite minimal damage to the landscaping and pool cage. When Irma took an unexpected turn to the northeast at about 8 o'clock that night, the shift in direction spared us. We are going down to Naples in a few weeks (after our daughter's wedding!), so we will know for sure how everything fared.

When the storm turned to go slightly northeast at about 8 o'clock that night, the shift in direction spared us. We had minimal damage -- mostly to our pool cage and to trees and shrubbery. We are up in Massachusetts for half of the year and are going down in a few weeks (after our daughter's wedding!) to spend a few days in Naples.

Comment by Laura Shaffer on September 14, 2017 at 5:54pm: We survived Irma with no damage and no loss of power. Since we were in a Zone the was a mandatory evacuation we took the boys and went . They were great the two days we were in the shelter. Hope the rest of you faired well.

Comment by Sherri on September 13, 2017 at 12:20pm: Hi Laurie - We are fine up here in Cape Coral, but we didn't take the hit that Naples did. Our power is back, but many around us in CC and Ft Myers don't have theirs yet. I hope that your home is OK. The coverage I've seen from Naples shows damage to modular homes or trailers.
