What Type of Doodle(s) do you have? What are their names? Tell us about your doodle(s) or any other pets you have!
We have a (F1b) crossback Springer-Doodle named Baloo. His mother was a SpringerDoodle and his father a Standard Poodle, which means he is 75% Standard Poodle and 25% Springer Spaniel. Crossback breeds shed less than regular hybrid doodle breeds. Also, the Springer is lower shed than the Lab or many other dogs because their hair is finer. It is a great combo. I find a few whips of his hair in a corner it blows to when I vacuum weekly, but it is hardly what I get in my hairbrush daily! My daughter has a Great PyreDoodle & Standard 'Party' Poodle.
Where did you get your doodle(s)?
Breeder
Why did you choose a doodle rather than another breed or mix?
My son-in-law's family studs their Standard Poodle and our dog was their "payment". He is our first indoor dog because I never could deal with the shedding.
What are Your Favorite Things to Do With Your Doodles?
Hikes and walks, going in the car, swimming. She has learned tricks and gets things for me like tennis shoes, toys, and treats when I ask. :)
Hi Shar! Thank you so much for all of your new pictures and information! What a great community this is. We had a hard time figuring out if we should get a standard springerdoodle or miniature. We've ultimately decided to go with a male miniature who will probably get to be 25 pounds. I was leaning towards the standard, my husband was leaning towards the miniature. Since the miniature litter was already born and looking so cute, my husband won out! The puppies are only two weeks old! We're getting so excited!!!
Hi Shar...you commented on my photo of Gracie Doodle and Tango the Sproodle. I haven't been around them much. Our friends have two who were litter mates...Sierra and Tango and they are really fun and cute. They just love them to death. They own a ranch so they are kept very short and go everywhere on the grounds. My Gracie Doodle is a big F1 Standard GD which makes the Sproodles look rather small in the photo. I imagine they have great personalities. The owners always had Golden Retrievers in the past so the Sproodle is something new for them but they love them to death!!! I love the looks of Baloo!
Funny you mention that because Maggie will pee a little bit when she sees my roommate or my Mom! I'm not too worried about it but we have to plan the greetings like you guys! Maggie is 40 pounds and I don't think she will get much taller than she is now. But may put on a little more weight. She was the runt of the litter according to what Jade's owners told me. You will have to take some pictures of the pups when you have a chance. I am interested to see what the parti pups look like. I hope all is well.
Hi Shar! I just wanted to wish you and Baloo a Merry Christmas. Maggie is the sweetest thing I could have ever hoped for. I cannot believe how smart she is. I'm sure Baloo is the same way. Just wanted to say hello and I hope all is well with your family.
Thank you for the friend invite.
I'm so sorry to hear about Cowboy....I don't have any knowledge about how common cancer is among Australian Shepards. One year old is very young for a dog to pass from cancer...I am really sorry to hear this.
Baloo is adorable...I like the little white stripe on his chest.
