I am looking for a Doodle for my 6yr old son Jonathon who has tested positive for dog allergies. I think that a doodle is the best choice and I am anxious to find a new member for our family.
What Type of Doodle(s) do you have? What are their names? Tell us about your doodle(s) or any other pets you have!
We do not have a doodle but are looking for one. We do not have any other pets due to our sons allergies.
Why did you choose a doodle rather than another breed or mix?
I thought this breed would be best since they are 'hypo-allergenic'.

The GRAD Group - Greater Richmond Area - has romps (get togethers) all the time. Join their group and find out when they will be together so you can see them in action, the different types of doodles and see if your son has any allergy issues. Talk to Belinda Stevens to find out when they are getting together.
There is no such thing as a 'hypoallergenic dog'. It might not be the hair that your son may have issues with - it could a particular dog's saliva.
You night be better off with a yound dog and not a puppy. Their coats would be more adult so you would know if they are a shedder or not. Puppies coats change so much during the first year. You could spend some time with the Doodle and see if you son has any problems. You would want a doodle with a curly coat (more grooming but potentially no shedding).
My BIL is allergic to cats and most dogs. He has NO problem with either of my girls - neither shed.
