I am quite a new Doodle parent and own two Australian Labradoodle male puppies aged 10 and 5 months. I bred Bearded Collies and showed them in dog shows before, but my husband is allergic to dogs it was not possible to continue on this way. I am quite a new Doodle parent and own two Australian Labradoodle male puppies aged 10 and 5 months. I have bred Bearded Collies and showed them in dog shows before, but my husband is allergic to dogs it was not possible to continue on this way. Then we got to know about Labradoodles and we have fallen in love with this breed. There are only few Labradoodles and one breeder here in Finland and they have only few breeding dogs and the wait list is very long, so we have to obtain our first dog from overseas. So after 1,5 years waiting time, Trassel arrived in Finland on November 2010 from Australia. On March 2011 got we our another puppy, which is the future breeder dog in Finnish breeder breeding program and we are his guardian home. Our life has changed totally after we got our lovely fur babies! It feels like I have got another life, because I thought that I could not ever have dogs.

We have two Australian Labradoodles, both are males.

Breeder
Why did you choose a doodle rather than another breed or mix?
My husband is alergic to dogs and he has asthma.
What are Your Favorite Things to Do With Your Doodles?
Hi Taina, I'm just looking at Riley's pedigree now. He is an Australian Labradoodle. Lots of Sunsethills, Tegan Park, Trentons, Crawford farm Rutlands and Cherdons plus Puppy Love Confetti, Chessy Park Celebrity
It would be interesting if they are somewhat related.
Taina, Thank you so much for sharing your thoughts with me.
Charlie has the wavy fleece coat and I love it. Being retired, I also have time to give him his daily brushing right after his breakfast in the a.m. He just had his first haircut and I was pleased with what the groomer did. I had clipped his feet and face a couple of times before this. I am not an experienced groomer, but I would like to groom him myself and plan to in the future. I will let him grow back out to 6" and then cut him back to 2". I hope I can do it!
We also have something else in common, my husband also has asthma.
Good luck with your two boys - let's keep in touch on Doodle Kisses.
I love your Doodles they are both gorgeous. I have a 16 week old Australian Labradoodle and like you I could not find one here in Ireland. My partner and I are now so in love with Riley and are having such fun. We were looking at the Bearded Collie before we decided on a Labradoodle and the fact that Riley does not shed is a huge plus factor.
Your doodles are very handsome. We live in the US and have one ALD - Charlie is 7 mos old. I would love to get another one, but cannot decide if right now if the right time. Both sides of Charlie's grandparents are from the Australian lines. We bought him from a breeder on the Washington/Canadian border. I am in the midst of training Charlie - he just passed his CGC test today. I am thinking about using him as a therapy dog. Can you tell me any specific pros and cons of having two of these guys versus one besides the basic twice as much grooming, cleanup, etc?
This is a great place to share about doodles. There are many groups that you can join. For example, there are groups for grooming, nutrition, health/medical, types of doodles, puppy groups etc. Look at the top of your page and click on Groups - check them out. Enjoy!
