I am a single woman raising a 100 pound male goldendoodle. My husband and I got him when he was about 9 weeks old. My husband died about 9 months later after a significant illness. I have finally made peace with the challenges of having a dog, working full time, and having a very busy life with a yooung male doodle. I use a dog day care 2-3 days a week which helps a lot. Beau is very smart and a good dog. He does have IBS with certain foods he's allergic to and that can be a BIG issue!!!!
What Type of Doodle(s) do you have? What are their names? Tell us about your doodle(s) or any other pets you have!
Just 1 very large male goldendoodle F1B about 2.5 years
Where did you get your doodle(s)?
Breeder
Why did you choose a doodle rather than another breed or mix?
I have had goldens in the past and my husband liked the idea of very little shedding. What he didn't realize was the amount of grooming and cost involved. He needs groomed about every 5 weeks due to his thick curly hair.

Oatmeal Creme Rinse that you can leave in. You can also use it when they are itchy and it helps with dryness.
Could you please tag your lovely photo, of the baby and doodle, for a slide show featuring babies (including Adina's) and doodles. The tag is babydoodle, lowercase and one word. Thanks so much.
Hi Teri! I just looked at your pictures and read about Beau. What a BIG boy he is! I see he likes his stuffed toys! He sure looks like a certain dog that lives here with us except Toby is only 61 pounds. He does have similar hair - it is especially thick on his back - and I mean THICK! It seems once he gets to his doodle cuteness it's really time for a trim which usually means they cut him really close. I hate that. Poor boy got a "trim" today but no way I'm posting pictures of him till it grows out some. LOL
Ned is still a puppy, but he has a really thick, curly coat as well. He is matting now and i have to comb him daily just to keep up. He hates being brushed and so it is a big fight. My husband "cuddles?" him firmly while I brush and comb. I think if he continues to need this much grooming I will cut him much shorter. I really like how Beau's fur looks - kind of sculpted. Maybe Ned's could look like that if we cut it shorter. I am so afraid he'll look like a skinned chicken if we cut it too much.
Welcome to doodlekisses. You will find a whole world of friends our here to help you with your doodle. He is a beauty. I didn't realize about the huge amount of grooming some of these guys need either. They are beautiful and worth it but it can be a surprise.
Welcome to doodlekisses, Teri!
