Jenni, I saw your post on the Stargazer group and noticed that you moved.  Be sure the update your profile. That way if others are searching for you or Stargazer pups in your new area, you could connect.

When I met Mary, her husband had recently passed away and she had moved to the SLO area to be near family.  I knew she had a degree but don't think she was working outside of a dog breeding career at that time.  I don't know if she is working in her college  field area currently in Arkansas. Do you? How is Chloe doing? Ned just got his CGC certificate. Yay!

Hi Jenni - I was just wondering how little Chloe is doing? Drop a line when you get a chance. Michelle

Hi Jenni - I understand you also have a Stargazer pup from Scruffie and Alladin. Tad is a litter mate of Michelle B's Angel. Actually, we had almost adopted her pup - can you believe it??! I'm sorry to hear your pup has some health issues. Our Tad is super healthy. Maybe there is a recessive gene or something... In any case, your little Chloe is completely adorable!!! She looks a lot like Tad and Angel did as puppies!!! Jane

Oh, and both of them seem to have issues when they get vaccinated. Angel started vomiting the night after we had their last round of shots (they had the others before we got them as they were at 14 & 15 weeks). Then Amy vomited. Not sure it was sympathy vomit or not. We took them to the emergency vet, of course this happened after hours. $$ later and a shot of benadryl, they were fine. We had them give them benadryl before the next series a year later. I wanted to mention that Angel is also a love bug. She likes to sit in my lap and sleep next to me. She is also protective of me. Sometimes she has attitude with my daughter and I have to remind Angel that my daughter is "ok." She's also our guard dog and she's very jealous of Amy if she's getting the attention. Amy is my happy go lucky pup and she likes to go where the people go, but still wants her independence. We refer to her as A.D.D. dog. Together they are great and get along extremely well. I'm not sure what one would do without the other. Sounds like Angel and Chloe have similar qualities. Well, enjoy your trip and I hope Chloe is feeling better and better and continues to gain weight! :)

Really, she had lots of puppies? I checked the website the last weekend in July and I think she had just 2 and her comment was that she wanted to be puppy free before the move across Country. That's actually when I contacted her again and asked for the papers and she said she'd get them in the mail on Aug 4th. I'm still waiting....I now we can get Aladdin's info from Nancy, but I was curious about the moms.
Oh, Nancy's comment about mushrooms - my vet thought her liver levels might have been elevated from eating a mushroom, we had one in our backyard at that time, but seems it wasn't from that. They did a radioactive something or other test and finally a liver biopsy at the same time we had her spayed. I honestly don't recall if he said anything about it being congenital, but I'll ask next time we're in. She needs her levels checked again to see where she's at. Oh, and i found what to me looks like a mole on her chest. I want to have that checked as well. I think somewhere you mentioned a bout of shaking and vomiting. we had that after her switching her food abruptly (don't remember to what) and the vet was afraid it was just another chapter in her book, but seemed to be an isolated incident. They pumped her back full of fluids and she was fine (of course, this happened on the day we were leaving to head out of town of a short trip). I also saw you were taking about food. They were on Orijens puppy formula for some time and now we have them on the adult variety. They seems to be fine with it. We mix a bag of the meat with a bag of the fish and man does it stink! But they seem to like it. Wonder if Nancy has heard anything about that brand???

Except for the mystery illness, Chloe sounds like a tiny cuddly cutie. I hope she is feeling better and very glad that you saw the mushroom. I know just how you are feeling. When our Springer had surgery the vet gave a flavored prescription anti-inflamatory for him. We had them far back on the counter - none of my guys could reach, but my daughter came over with her lab and he got them down and all the dogs 'shared' them. We were too late for the stomach pumping but they all got to take some antidote for a couple of weeks. Hopefully they did share them because there is less chance of permanent damage - which we will never know about until they have liver failure or whatever years down the line.

Hi Jenni - I'm curious, did you get information on Chloe's parents? I've asked her for info on both of my dog's parents and she's promised it, but has yet to send it. Not sure if I'll ever get it from her.

Oops, I hit add too soon - have a great trip and let me know when you get back.
Ned is not a major cuddler. I think it is because he has to be groomed so rigorously that often when I get him I end up brushing and combing. We crated him at night until he was about 1 1/2 but now he often sleeps on the foot of the bed. He is a mover so never stays in one place throughout the night but he doesn't bother us UNTIL morning. When he feels it is time to wake up, he grabs a toy and dances around on the bed and chortles, jumps off the bed, on the bed, dances, prances etc...... Now add Clancy learning this from Ned!!!!

You may not get this now, but when you do, definitely join the food group and also contact 'Karen and Jack' - Karen is dk's major nutrition expert. She actually checks ingredients, where they come from etc. Science Diet is not a good food. The problem is that Vet's do not get courses on nutrition - like ob/gyn's don't get courses on breastfeeding. Vet school books are often provided by food companies, so the vets just continue with these companies. There are some good foods out there but I am not up on puppy food, especially for a teeny tiny one. There is another dk member, DeeDee and Sheila who has a pup from Log Cabin Labradoodles (Ned and Chloes' father is from there) who is also a teeny tiny one. You could see what she has fed her.
