As promised, here is my update after the 1st bath in the New Tub. I'm going to declare it a success. My knees were so happy that they weren't on the floor the whole time. My back, although happier than the bathtub process, will be happier once I get a method for getting them in the tub vs. lifting them in. I didn't get nearly as wet as I get doing it in the bathtub, but I did have to keep track of my hand with the sprayer and remember that the front of the tub was not as tall as the back. The floor stayed dry. The grate in the bottom that she stands on to keep her feet out of the soap and water was great. Here are some pics from our experience.

We are all ready to get started.

Today it was Sophie's turn in the tub. I think that because she got to sit and watch Lucy yesterday it made her much more comfortable today. The tub has been sitting in that room for about 2 weeks while we were getting everything to hook it up. All Sophie would do is bark at it! She was just really leary of it. Today, totally different story. After watching Lucy get her bath, get clipped, and combed out, this morning Sophie just put her little paws up on the counter when I got the brushes out (just like Lucy does). Sophie normally runs from me when she sees the brushes. I carried her from the counter getting combed out to the tub and expected to get a wiggle worm as I neared the tub .... but nothing. She let me put her in and she just stood there the entire bath. I didn't even need to put the neck holder on her to keep her head over the tub. And the big thing I noticed is 13 lbs makes a lot of difference in the tub. Lucy was a lot of dog in the tub, made Sophie seem like a mini compared to Lucy. Lucy, start to finish was probably 4 hours and Sophie was only 2. Last time I took them both to the groomers for haircuts and baths with tip it was $150, so guess I've paid the first $150 on my tub! Yeah!

Looks good to me. I couldn't lift my Lucy either, 80#'s, no way. Sooooo let us know what you figure out.

I don't think that they would go up the steps, so DH is going to build us a box that fits underneath the tub that I pull out that they can use for a step. Since the front of the tub is lower, I think one fairly large step is all we really need.

Lucy looks nice and shiny. Do you think you might get the steps for the tub?

Lucy looks beautiful...and I can imagine that she smells wonderful! Sure looks easier than the regular bathtub. I know that "bowing" pose so well. Guinness does that after his bath in between the zoomies.
