Labradoodle & Goldendoodle Forum

After reading several blog posts and discussions about Doodle Moms with OCD...I think there should be a new acronym.  OCDM.  We have one Doodle Mom who MUST have all of the toys neatly kept in the toy box (I happen to agree with Murphy...you can't PLAY with toys when they are in the box).  We have another Doodle Mom who worries too much about, well, just about everything (I am just like that too, Jennifer).

Are you ready for what OCDM stands for?  Obsessive-Compulsive-Doodle-Mom!!!!  And I would proudly wear it on my t-shirt (for all those of you who are GLEE fans, you know what I am talking about).

We gladly give up buying nice bottles of wine and getting the box variety so we can buy Orijen & Fromm.  Go without salon visits so we can take our Doodles to the best groomers in town.  Eliminate dinners out so we can afford daycare.  Turn our living rooms into agility courses since we don't have fenced in back yards.  Buy and move (gotta love anyone who is willing to go through that) into a house that has a fenced in yard to provide safe places for our Doodles to play.

I did not know what I didn't know about being a Doodle Mom until I got Rua.  I was not blessd with children and have lived with an empty space in my heart and life that even my wonderful DH can't fill.  While I didn't use the same technique as Jane (either a boyfriend or a puppy), I was pretty insistent on getting a puppy.

I can not believe how much I love Rua.  I want to take pictures or videos of her and share them with my family and all my wonderful DK friends (or anyone else I can get to stand still for a second).  I love taking her out so she can experience the world and people get to experience her.  I love going to training classes and learning how to work with her to be the best she can be.  And I worry about every little thing - hoochie dancing, red marks, crying over her toys, etc.

So, who else is an OCDM??????

So that is what I have!!!!!!!....Now I can get one of those tee shirts too!!!!!...I have had dogs in the past, but never have I been so attached or in love with a dog like I am with my Oliver....My friends think I am sick in the head, lol..But I could care less, I know that there are others just like me here and I can come here and feel like I am normal, lol...I have to admit I have a friend that loves Oliver almost as much as I do.  She comes here everyday from work, ( she lives down the street) to see and get her hugs and kisses from Oliver..she has a picture of him in her classroom, on her refrigerator, and because of Oliver, her kids came to see her from Atlanta, they had lost there 8 yr old Golden to Cancer, and they fell in love with Oliver, and now they are a doodle family as well.  I know that if anything ever happens to my friends dog, another doodle will have a loving home....And yes, it is true, I have put my hair dying schedule on a different track, Oliver has to look just right, lol, Mom can wait....Doodles ARE love....

I think I can be considered an OCDM. I once worried myself enough because I thought Huff ate half a paper plate to the point where I went to yahoo answers to ask about it there (before I knew about DK:)) haha:)

Laurie - you have doodles?  I didn't know that, I thought you just hung out here because you didn't have anything else to do.  lol

No doubts about OCDM with me!  Life is so much better with at least one doodle in it.

Dori this made me laugh so hard I cried, you are so right, I worry and OCD about everything when it comes to Jack, everything else is my life I am so laid back about, even when I can't breathe, I never panic, but I will be dipped in butter sauce if I don't whip a flash light out every time Jack poops to examine it, or look in his ears anytime he remotely shakes his head, or wonder about everything with him

There is just no denying it, I am an OCDM.... Sometimes when I think about how insane I am, as I am driving in the car wondering why I don't have a "Doodle on Board" sign so everyone knows to drive safe because I am on the road with precious cargo I think that if anyone seriously knew how much I loved my Jack, I could be committed. You would never know it but I try to curve how much I want to talk about Jack on here.

I am with you, get me a Tee Shirt, but not pink or red it brings out the flush color of my cheeks..!!!!!! LOL

Here's to us, may our roots never show too much, or our naked nails ever be a disgrace and may our dogs always have the best food, toys and grooming supplies ever!!! Here's to us OCDM's!!!!

Guilty as charged.  Thank goodness for DK where others have this condition and understand!
