Holly, our Goldendoodle pup, is used to the freedom of a very large yard. We have over an acre fenced with chain link. She loves the yard and it gives her the freedom to run.
We were a bit apprehensive about taking Holly with us on a ten day trip from Southern California to Utah because we didn't know how she would act in a 33 foot motor home. However, we were determined to bring her with us and crossed our fingers in the hope that our 60 pound, 9 month old Doodle would not be a pest.
She was great! Holly reacted to the motor home like she always lived in it. She slept most of the time when we were driving and never caused any trouble.
We walked her frequently and usually took her everywhere we went in our tow car. We all had a wonderful time. The few times we left Holly (along with her two Maltese friends) in the motor home we left the TV on and bones for them to chew.
We introduced Holly to snow at the 10,480 feet elevation of Cedar Breaks National Monument and she absolutely loved it.
The only slight problem was that we don't like to keep the motor home furnace on during the night because the noise of the fan wakes us up. As a result it can get pretty cold in areas like Utah. We use a down quilt on our bed to keep us warm. Holly solved the cold problem by hopping up in bed with the two of us and with her two Maltese friends. We were a bit crowded but, were toasty warm.
When we arrived home, Holly ran around the yard for hours but, then when we entered the motor home to do some clean-up, Holly came in right behind us.
We have a great traveling companion!
