WORKING DOODLES!
Some of you know that Nick is a therapy dog and makes visits to retirement homes. We started a regular gig at one of the Fresno children's library branches yesterday....kids reading to dogs. Nick was a huge hit..and it was fun for me, too (as a former reading teacher!)...almost all the adults commented on how calm and mannered she was - none had ever seen a GD before, and I think they were impressed with doodles!
The librarian made posters and had them all over the library:
Before we started I talked about therapy dogs to a group of parents and kids and then the room was cleared out for individual reading. It was a great set-up, with a tiny chair for me and beanbags for the kids. Nick was a good girl, and really enjoyed the attention (especially after the kids were finished with their books!)

Doodles seem perfect for this. Bocker has been certified with TDI for two years now. We have visited nursing homes and children's hospitals..giving all the kids their very own Bocker plush puppy. He does give as much love as he receives. Now we are working as Wagging Tail Tutors in elementary schools. It's a great program helping children with reading issues, helping them gain self-esteem, and also teaching them about dogs. The children love reading with Bocker and the other dogs and it has really been a plus in their education. We have more info on Bocker's website.. http://www.bocker.tv Our doodles are incredible. What a wonderful program ! I know the kids loved having Nick there to " read" with them. I have heard of programs like that but I am not sure we have one where we live. I am going to look into it. We have a school for special needs children and I am sure that they would LOVE having a program there.

How old is Sidiqi?
Nick was a typically excitable puppy but really started mellowing after she was about two. At three, she is very calm.
