3 weeks tomorrow with Skylar

Tomorrow marks the 3 week point in our home and as part of our family. from what I was told she was a rescue dog and had little to no contact with the "outside world". If that is correct then her 1st 3 weeks with us has been full of firsts for her.

In no order - here are some of her firsts

1. Boat ride - went OK, she's not thrilled with that form of transportation. She likes the car much better.

2. Take her to work. She took a few days to warm up to the office environment but now fits in well with the other people in the office

3. Free range of the house at night. She likes to wake me up every night at 3:15AM - not sure why but she goes back to sleep.

4. Living with kids, she is not sure what to make of my 10 & 11 year old boys. They are very gentle with her but she has not warmed to them

5. Walking an out door festival with 100,000 people. She did well. Stayed at my side. only barked at other small dogs and little kids.

6. Out in the yard with no leash. She likes that. Runs after squirrels and other small animals in the yard.

One odd thing. On the leash with no harness she pulls sometimes but not when we use the harness. When I let her off the leash she walks up and then looks back to see were I am am and if I'm coming.

Skylar certainly is settling into your home.You are really observant which is way cool.  I will bet that with more time and exposure, she will warm up to the boys.
