Oliver is 9 weeks old today!
...and we just got back from his first puppy class! He was very well behaved and didn't potty all over the place like a lot of the older puppies did. I'm rather partial to him and so I'm a bit biased, so I was surprised when other puppy owners singled me out from all of the other puppy owners and told me how cute and well behaved he was. :) One lady told me he looks like that puppy from the Charmin toilet paper commercial, ha. Anyway, we were introduced to clicker training and the "Watch me" command as well as some potty training things. Next week we teach sit which Oliver has pretty much mastered....that is, unless there is something FAR MORE interesting going on in another room. ;)
So far, Oliver is doing really well with potty training. So far he hasn't pooped in the house at all, but every once in the while when he's in the middle of playing he'll just pee where he's at. However, since he's tethered to me at all times, I quickly pick him up and take him outside for him to finish so there's never a huge lake for me to clean up! I got him some new dog food (Blue Buffalo Puppy - Lamb and Brown Rice) since I wanted to switch him to a better quality food (his breeder had him on Iam's large breed). Also picked up his favorite dingo bones and now we're back home feeding and hydrating everyone (myself included!). Let me just say, Oliver LOVES this food so much more than his old stuff! Usually I have to coax him to continue eating (and remind him not play) but this time, he ate for 10 minutes straight and when he was finished, I swear he weighed about 10lbs heavier!
Today is the third day in a row it has been gloomy and rainy. But Oliver is getting good experience having me clean/dry his paws when he comes in from outside! It looks like it will clear up tomorrow and Monday, however, we have a chance of snow on Tuesday if the temps stay low!!!
