This is a video we took when we first moved in and shows Oliver thoroughly enjoying his new 3/4 acres! (Please excuse the heinously long grass- we had just moved in!) The video is pretty funny because you can tell Chloe is the prim and proper princess who doesn't like getting dirty in the long grass. She also dislikes playing with Oliver outside because he gets HER dirty in the process...lol) Also- listen to the pretty birds in the background- I sooooo love our new house!!! <3 <3…Continue
Nothing new has really been happening, hence the lack of updates.
Today I scheduled his surgery to get neutered, which will happen the first week in March.
Oliver is still very patient with our 7 year old chihuahua (who is the boss) she growls whenever he gets on her nerves and then he very slowly backs away from her...this is hilarious to see btw, a 7lb chihuahua scaring the big dog. lol However, 9 times out of 10 he can entice her to play… Continue
Oliver graduated from puppy class today! He passed his test with flying colors! ...and, just to show off, he rolled over on command for everyone...TWICE! lol He's such a good, smart boy! Also, we bought a gentle leader harness last week and he is MUCH better when we're walking through PetSmart now! Hoorray!
He had the last of his puppy shots this week too! He's a big boy… Continue
Oliver is officially 4 months old today! Using the doodle equation, he should be ~66-76lbs. as an adult! He also graduates from puppy class next week!
I've been trying to teach Oliver to play fetch with a frisbee since he was about 8 weeks old. However, when he was that young it was nothing more than a chew toy to him...and fetch? No way. He'd much rather keep it to himself thankyouverymuch. He'd carry it around the house with him....but it was only today that he actually brought it… Continue

So Oliver just recently celebrated his first Christmas! He didn't really understand why wrapping paper was scattered all around our house so early in the morning, but definitely took advantage of the mess! Hopping all around our house with all of his various Christmas toys surrounding him. He definitely had a good Christmas :)
He has gained 3.6lbs. since last week and now weighs 30.8 lbs at 15 weeks! What a big boy!
We haven't been working on tricks like ROLL OVER much… Continue
Oliver is now 14 weeks old! Just did my weekly weighing of him: He now weighs 27.8 lbs. which is an increase of 3.4 lbs. since last week! There's a doodle equation that is pretty accurate in terms of how big a puppy will be as an adult that I can't wait to use when Oliver is 4 months old (only 2 more weeks!). As it is right now, if he only gains 2 more pounds over the next 2 weeks, he should be 60-70 lbs. as an adult. But at the rate he's growing, I haven't seen a <3 lb. increase each week… Continue
Well, Oliver has gained a wopping 4.4 lbs. since last week. He is getting SOOOOO big!
His new thing over the past few days has been drinking out of the toilet :\ Obviously I'm not too happy about this. As soon as he hears me coming to get him out of the bathroom he very slowly pulls his head out of the toilet and stares at me like, "What? Want a drink too?" LOL Ugh! Down the toilet seats go for all eternity! Well, hopefully not for ALL eternity!
Oliver is growing like a weed! Not much new to report on this week...I can't believe we've had him for 4 weeks already! I have to say he is pretty much reliably potty trained with no accidents in the house for the past 2.5 weeks. He is constantly running to nudge his bells at the door and then goes right to his potty spot! In fact, he's MUCH faster than his "big" sister Chloe when it comes to pottying! hahaha Right now we're working on stay and sitting (and staying) at the door until I tell him… Continue

Oliver is getting so big! Or really, it's his legs that are getting much longer! I know I say it all the time, but he is SUCH a good boy! It's like I'm waiting for the terrible, puppy stage to kick in! He is constantly looking directly in my eyes to see what he should be doing. It's like he's having a conversation with me but only with his eyes! Whenever he's not sure what to do, I swear I can see his brain working. Usually during our eye contact during these times he will sit very… Continue
A 12 week old golden retriever puppy (named Wally) joined our puppy class today and Oliver was absolutely smitten. He likes all of the other puppies in class, but he had a difficult time paying attention today since all he wanted to do was play with this other puppy that looked so similar to himself!
Our teacher decided to use Oliver for an exercise on how to teach them to walk on a loose leash (i.e. they don't PULL you, there is always slack in the leash). Although Oliver… Continue
1. He was okay with playing in the empty tub. Yay!
2. I put some peanut butter on the wall of the tub so he could lick it off and associate good things with bath time. Yay!
3. I started running the water really slowly. He was timid, but okay with it. Yay!
4. I turned the… Continue
...and we just got back from his first puppy class! He was very well behaved and didn't potty all over the place like a lot of the older puppies did. I'm rather partial to him and so I'm a bit biased, so I was surprised when other puppy owners singled me out from all of the other puppy owners and told me how cute and well behaved he was. :) One lady told me he looks like that puppy from the Charmin toilet paper commercial, ha. Anyway, we were introduced… Continue
Things are going well! Yesterday Oliver had a few accidents in the house while his dad was "watching" him while I went to the store. I put WATCHING in quotations for a reason...haha. Jonathan admits that he was doing several things at once, but I think he learned his lesson quickly as it was his first time he was alone with the puppy since we brought him home. ...Oh well, today is a new day!
Last night we went to bed at 11pm and Oliver walked into his crate without any coaxing from… Continue
We have many nicknames for the pup. So far we call him: Ollie, Ollie-Ollie-Oxen-Free, Oliver Twist, Mr. Twist, and Fetus face (because he has such a baby face in comparison with the rest of his body lol).
Yesterday (during the day), when he fell asleep while we were playing in the living room (being a puppy is HARD WORK!) we'd transfer him into Chloe's crate to see how he'd react. We're using Chloe's old crate at the moment since we wanted to wait to see how tall he would be, but… Continue
This morning we slept in. When we got up we decided to go out to breakfast. Afterward we were going to take something back to a local store, but when I told my husband Jonathan that he was turning the wrong way he said, "Nope...we actually have something more important to do today." He then took out the GPS and surpriseeeee he put in… Continue
Yesterday we checked out Black Hill Regional Park...
Isn't this the happiest chihuahua you've ever seen?!
Since we're both originally from Florida, Chloe never really experienced a BIG pile of leaves. We came across this little patch of grass under a tree with TONS of fallen leaves, and well,… Continue
My husband just e-mailed the following pictures with the subject that said, "some special puppies..." Of course I e-mailed him back like a mad woman and asked if they were OUR puppies?! He replied, "They very will might be OUR puppies...one of them anyway!" :) After some more prodding on my part, I learned that our litter is comprised of 5 males and 2 females. Since we have our heart set on a male (that we will be naming Oliver), we'll be getting one of the little boys in the top photo! Ahh!… Continue
