Labradoodle & Goldendoodle Forum
So, my daughter has been asking for a new dog for a couple of years now and I think she is now old enough to assume some of the responsibility. (She'll be 7 and is very motherly). So we have a crate, a pen, a dog walker, toys, a vet appointment, and we picked the perfect puppy (of course!). Lily is calm and our breeder (who breeds many service dogs) says that her temperament is great for service. We pick her up on Friday. I know this is about to mean more middle of the night wake ups, lots of training, biting, ruined items (either from the dog or the toddler while I deal with the dog!). But, man am I excited!
Here's hoping that my short term regrets are outweighed by all of the love this dog will bring to our family.

Puppies are incredible. Sounds like you are prepared. Don't forget all the free recommendations and advice you will get from this group. Some of it works, some of it doesn't. You will have so much "fun" figuring your new ball of fur out! Lots of laughs, lots of heart melting moments, the best months of your life bonding with your new puppy are ready to begin! Good luck...post puppy pictures! I'll share Skadi's puppy picture, but Elli is our rehomed daughter and she was already 6 when we took her in, but she still "acts" like a puppy even tho she's 7 now.
We are wishing you many fun filled days with your new Puppy! Some days will be better than others, for sure, but what an adventure is ahead!
This will be an exciting and active time for you. I think dogs are good for kids and I wish you all the best. Enjoy every minute...it won't feel like it at the time, but it goes by so quickly.
Looking forward to seeing homecoming photos! Puppyhood can be trying sometime, but in the grand scheme of things it is a short time frame. I enjoyed puppyhood - I hope you will too!
Such an exciting time! Tomorrow is the day!!!! Have fun and post pictures!! Your daughter must be over the moon excited!!!!!
Congratulations on your new addition.
I wish you the best with your new puppy.
