As much fun as vacations can be, there is no place like home!!!! Being away from my Lola for 2 weeks proved to be quite unbearable...even with the skyping and photo e-mailing my sister did (she was her sitter). New Orleans is an absolutely beautiful city with a great history and even better people. I experienced more in 2 weeks there than I have in a whole year in my own boring city. The people there really open up your eyes to realize what's really important in life. Your family, your loved ones, food, and music. Not necessarily in that order!! There's nothing better than going to sleep in my own bed with Lola taking up 3/4 of the space. I love it, and no amount of beignets or crawfish etouffee will ever replace that.

Love you, Lola!!!

I'm glad things worked out for the vacay, but I couldn't agree more. Home is wear the heart is, and in your case 'heart' means Lola. Look at that face, I can see why you don't want to leave her!!

I am considering not going home for Christmas because my sister in law doesn't want the dogs. I don't want to spend Christmas withough my babies.

Sue, I know just how you feel. I spend my whole vacation wishing I was home. Glad you had a nice time and are now back where you belong.

There's no place like home -- particularly when you have a doodle waiting on you! Glad you had a great trip!

Sometimes the best thing about being on vacations is coming home. Hope you are getting lots of doodle love.

Carol - it's definitely one of those place you have to visit. It's really amazing.

Melody - Thank doodle my DH joined me for the second week. If I was away from both of them for the whole 2 weeks I probably would have gone insane!!!!

Nancie - I completely understand how you feel. Several times a day, we would look at each other and say something about how Lola would either hate, or love the situation we were in. Our Lola is a little skittish and scared of new things, so a loud and busy city like New Orleans would have set her over the edge for sure!!!!!

I totally get it.  We were in Boston/Vermont for 7 days visiting our four grandkids ages 7, 5, 3 and 10 months.  I love them to death and am miserable that they live across the country from me...but DH and I so completely missed our Gracie Doodle.  All we could do was talk about how much we missed her and when hiking would say..."Wouldn't Gracie love this...I sure wish Gracie were here with us"...though never when our kids or grandkids could hear us.  My DH's final statement was "we are never leaving our Gracie again!"...ha...that would mean he would never see the kids again except for the once a year visit we get from them!  We are off again this week but staying in California.  Driving up to our daughter's  in San Jose.  She has a Rhodesian Ridgeback and a human first baby on the way!  She just came back from a 15 day business trip in China and was more excited to see her Luna than her DH...LOL...so we all understand you completely!

Awww, welcome home!  I know exactly how you feel.  I just got home yesterday after being gone for a week with my sister and my bff and I am embarrassed to say...I missed Bruin more than my husband!  You are right, there is no place like home.
