We are halfway through the great backyard redo. Mom says there is nothing to be afraid of but so far this week we have seen:
#1. ...A large odd shaped truck which backed up to our driveway and dumped gunk out of its behind. Seriously, mom would never let us go there! Its not our potty spot! That truck needs to learn some manners!
#2. ...This scary Alien fellow. Mom says its a welder. All we know is this individual looks menacing, makes a lot of noise and has sparks flying all around him. We actually like him because he is our family friend, Sam. But not in the helmet. In the helmet he is Lord Flame Thrower. We don't like that at all. He almost became BBQ Sam today. We will get to that in a minute.
#3. A Fire. Yes we said that right. Welder-Alien man started a small brush fire in our backyard with those flying embers. Luckily we were inside but our Grammie (who is getting one of our cousins this December) saw it from the window and ran out side. You see, the welder is our friend, Sam. He did not have his hearing aides in that day because he was doing so much welding so when Gram went outside yelling "FIRE!, FIRE!" He couldn't hear her. She had to douse him off with water to get his attention (and keep the flames from getting his boots) before he noticed what was going on and leaped off the ladder. Mom's, dad who we call Pop Pop was ever so helpful, just standing by snapping iphone pictures to capture the moment. Just what we need in a situation like this, someone to capture the embarrassment. Way to go Pops! Thank goodness Grammie earned her "Fire-Woman" badge in girl scouts!
Alex, our little boy was afraid for us and opened the front door yelling "Get out while you can!". He wanted to let us "Go Free and get away from the backyard fire". Neighbors must have loved that! Chaos in full throttle! Luckily we stayed near mom and did not run off to explore the neighborhood. I think we were fascinated by the fire. Sam was unharmed but mom's poor lavender bushes are fatally charred. RIP nice smelling place we use to pee on. We will remember you fondly.
All in a days work, we guess.
So after a few days here is what we have:
A new fence around the humans pool area. And yes, Jake is thinking of a way to sneak into the big pool already.
A newly laid concrete patio which will be under the pergola structure. This is where our doggie hammock will go.
Still lots to do. Today we are getting the ground excavated and the base for our synthetic lawn put in. As you can see, we are a bit depressed being housebound. We've decided to mope around the house until everything is done.
Hope you are all well!
Love,

Thanks PB&J for keeping us up to date :) It's a good thing your mom has you 3 to keep an eye on things LOL It looks like you're going to have a doodle and people's paradise soon! Happy to hear that no doodle hair was charred in the making of this blog. WTG Grammie!
Love the doggie blog - this is just lovely, can't wait to see the end results and hear the dogs reactions.
