I hope all my buddies out their can help me with this one.

And I am not sure if we discussed this or not. Well when Wilson is outside he does very well but as soon as he see's a car go by or just for the heck of it he will start BARKING and it is not the Bark that says come play with me, I know that bark he gives to his friends. LOL LOL

So my DH is thinking of getting him a barking collar to help reduce the unwanted barking and it is normally early in the morning when he is outside and of course sometimes in the house when the TV is on and he see's another dog

So do any of you use a collar to help stop the barking and which kind their is so much out their I want it to be safe, I saw a commercial Sunday for a Ultrasonic Barking "Collar but didn't get that toll free number fast enough.

thanks for all of your help

Well yesterday we got a barking collar for wilson it is a PetSAfe collar and I had the hardest time putting it on him I just could not do it But this morning I did and he woofed very silently instead of his big WOOF
I missed that but I do believe this will help him especially early in the morning and very late at night when we put him out those are really the only the times he barks soo very much.

I also have a barker on my hands. Finn barks at everything he sees or hears. So far, I just threaten him with a spray bottle which only works on a temporary basis. I am being as patient as I can with him because I saw a dog at the park yesterday that could NOT bark. Owner must have had that done and it was disturbing to me.

We are having a similar issue with Phoebe which I had recently blogged about. I have tried a variety of methods and, for various reasons, abandoned them all. I spoke with a trainer we used a while back and she suggested a table top ultrasonic device which I just purchased. I had been very leery about using any of these devices but settled on this one as it is not attached to Phoebe at all. I tried it for the first time last night--the trainer said it might take a while for her to associate the irritating sound with her barking so we need to be patient--and Phoebe seemed curious when she barked though she did continue to bark for a short while at the neighbor shoveling snow. I am hopeful though not convinced I am solving the problem appropriately, if at all. I do not want to her to be fearful of barking as I love how she alerts me to what is going on but, she has become somewhat of a random barker, loving the sound of her voice. I will follow up with you to see if you have any more success than I have been having! Good luck!
