Bella, my beloved sock eater....

My Bella has come along nicely in all areas except in her mouthing and chewings. Her obsession with socks however is just gone to new heights.  We are very careful of where we put our socks, however, it seems that baby socks are just too tempting, no matter where they are. If Bella-B can reach a shelf or clothes hamper and there are baby socks nearby, she quickly devours them ASAP. Before anyone even notices.

It has become our routine now to keep checking her poop to make sure everything we think has gone in does indeed come out. So the other day DH calls me outside and says : I think I found a pair of Ethan's socks". " A Pair?" I say.

" Yes, they are coming out in matched sets now". 

 And lo and behold in two seperate piles were indeed one little  grey baby sock in each pile. How on earth does she consume sets of socks and no one notice? Her ability to swallow in one gulp is astonishing. I have reached into that mouth and pulled out many items as they are on their way down. She gives a new definition to the name "Deep Throat",  It's as though one flick of her tongue and "gulp", down it goes.

So glad I have insurance for miss Hoover!

This is exactly why we have pet insurance too.   Our home is now decorated with 4 baby gates, laundry baskets with lids and bedroom doors that remain closed!    It is fascinating how quickly they can gulp them without us noticing.   Boomer always vomited so I never had the thrill of digging through his poop.    It hasn't happened in a very long time (because of the gates etc) but it still scares me to think one would get stuck.    Oh, and we do not have baby socks - Boomer gulped extra-long 6'4" MAN socks!    Clean, dirty, doesn't matter!

Maybe she could sort the laundry as she does seem to have a knack for keeping the socks in matching sets!

Ricki, the other fettish is still unresolved. But has certainly slowed down quite a bit. We are ever viligant with our poop picker upper routine so we get a lot of practice examining poop around here.  Looking for SOCKS!!!

Sue, I never did hear an update on her previous eating fetish?? Has that been resolved? Hopefully! Perhaps this is part of her recovery process...maybe the next step will be to eat things that were meant to be eaten! At least they are tiny little socks!  :)

I am also glad that's it's all coming out! Sock fetish?? Chloe has Tp/kleenex and coasters for a fetish although she'll steal whatever she can. That's funny that they came out as a pair!!! SO WEIRD!!
