I caught this 40-pound roosterfish fishing off Rancho Leonero on Baja California's East Cape about an hour north of Cabo San Lucas.

I also caught quite a few yellowfin tuna of about 20-25 pounds and a couple of large bull dorado (AKA: mahi-mahi).

However, I am most proud of the roosterfish which was the best of the season from Rancho Leonero lodge...

Deborah...

If you have not done so - try to take a trip to Baja California's East Cape.  Fishing is fabulous.  Unfortunately, the best fishing coincides with the hottest weather...

Here is the lodge I stayed at and fished from...

So nice.  I have caught fish larger than me deep sea fishing.  I know, I never will deep sea fish again. Ugh, just makes me too sick.

Good for you!  Beautiful photo, beautiful fish.  Congratulations

So jealous!!  That is one beautiful fish and on my bucket list.  My husband and I fish where and when ever we can.  Our vacation is always an anniversary/fishing trip.  My husband keeps a spreadsheet of each species of fish that he has caught; I think he's up to 100 now.
