I can't believe that four years have gone by since our wonderful Oliver arrived in our lives...He is truly my heart dog, and I can't imagine not having him in my life.   He is funny, he is curious, and so many other wondeful things.  he may be a big moose of a dog, but to me he is just my sweet puppy.  He is everything I could have ever wanted.  He loves me unconditionaly, and he is there when I need some one to listen to me, or whatever my mood, he just knows how to be with me.  I have decided that he is a reincarnation of my sweet Dad...Sometimes I look at him, and I see so much of my dear Dad in him.  His patience, his calmness, his funny antics, whatever, even DH thinks he has the soul of a wonderful human that has returned.  DH loves him as much as I do, and we have had several dogs over our 40 yrs. of married life together, and we loved them all, and when we lost one, our hearts were broken, but this doodle, this Oliver, has been something different, we are just so thankful that he belongs to us...And I am hoping that he is with us for many years to come...Happy Birthday our sweet Oliver....It will be Oliver and I tonight for his birthday dinner, lol, it is tax season, so DH will be home who knows when, lol, so we are having a special dinner just the two of us...He will have scrambled eggs, chicken, and sweet potatoes with his reg. food, and for dessert, he will have some organic vanilla frozen yougurt...Tomorrow to the groomer for his bath and haircut...lol...cheryl ...P.S.  I am sure that some of you will think I have lost it with my feelings about his being a soul returned, but that is what I feel...lol....

Hi everyone, I didn't want you all to think that I was ignoring your response to my posting, lol, It is still hard for me to use my left hand, but it is getting better very slowly though.  My hand shakes and they tell me that is perfectly normal because the bicep muscle is atrophyed (sp) and will take time to come back.  I do therapy 2x a week, I call it my torture chamber visits, but it is working, so I have to just buck up and bear it...Thank you all for such nice birthday wishes fo our Oliver, and for telling me I am not nuts, lol.....

Nope you haven't lost it.  Ever since I read "The Art of Racing in the Rain" I have thought about the possibility of our loved ones' personalities shining through in our dogs!

Oh Cheryl, you have not lost it at all.  These dogs are so special and about the most loving dog ever. Every word you said is a tribute to Oliver and the love the three of you share.  I can totally understand your feelings.  Happy Birthday Oliver!  You are a very special Doodle:)
