Chase Crossed the Rainbow Bridge Today

I haven't been super active on DK in recent years, but I know that some of the older members will remember my dog Chase. He was helped over the rainbow bridge today after a sudden illness. 

He was the dog that was sent here to teach me. We had a difficult relationship in the early years, a combination of his anxiety and reactivity and my inexperience. Over time people came into my life to teach me and as I learned more about behavioural problems in dogs and came to understand him more, we developed a wonderful relationship. The last few years of building trust culminated in recently attending a Barn Hunt workshop where his behaviour was impeccable. I'm going to miss my crazy little Chase-dog. Run free little man.

Thank you for your kind thoughts. He would always be looking out the living room window when I pulled in the driveway, it's hard to come home and not see his face in the window.

Stella ~ I have not been in DK much either, but when I came in today to see what was happening, & saw your post.  I am so sorry for your loss - it is so heartbreaking.  I know how much you miss your sweet boy Chase.

I'm so sorry. It's so hard to say goodbye. But I do believe all of our precious babies are running free and happy together.

I love your comment "Run free little man"!  That is how I imagine my Zak and Kara and I know that when I have to say good-bye to Myla, that is how I would want to think of her!  Chase was loved unconditionally and brought so much love to your heart!  He is happy and I really hope that sooner, rather than later, his memory will bring a smile to your heart!  Hugs until that time!

Thanks guys. He had cancer, it was only a week from his diagnosis until I had to have him put to sleep, he went downhill so fast :(
