Labradoodle & Goldendoodle Forum
My very first full introduction to Milt as "ours" was when I arrived home from school on June 1st to find the Milt waiting for me, sequestered in the kitchen, and as I cooed his name, he immediately squatted and pissed all over our rug. Welcome home, Milt! Our new house, thankfully, is rugless, but I think our goldendoodle has had a rough time adjusting to this transition. You see, with recent temperatures in the '30s and '40s, little Milt dog has been quite cold on our hardwood floors. He hasn't complained, but when a dog that never goes into his crate, besides bedtime, starts curling up in there, you know he is feeling the freeze. So, he has been spending much more time on his bed than ever before.
This comfy bed is located at his back door guard post. |
Since Milt's one, lone dog bed just wasn't cutting it for him, we bought another bed for the foyer.
Now he can guard the front door without even getting up. |
Sometimes Milt overflows onto the door mat, which he has claimed as his own too. |
Any new rug, mat, etc. that we bring into this house, Milt assumes was put there specifically with him in mind.

Milt's crate was starting to get a bit nippy at night too, which led to yet another purchase. This buy was actually specifically intended for him and not for the overall good of the house!
Milt's woolly new crate pad. |
In total, with all of the various rugs, that we obviously bought for our dood, Milton easily has seven beds in total now. What more could a boy ask for?

Thanks for reading, Lonnie! Getting a sibling is such a huge decision, but I often feel guilty that Milt is too bored or lonely. The main worry is the extra money for vet bills, daycare, heart worm pills, etc. Also, we love to take Milt anywhere and everywhere, but that is just not as acceptable when you have two dogs. Let me know what you decide with Libby! We would not do anything until summer hits. On that note, probably next summer once Milt has calmed down a bit.
Heidi we are in the same place. We are very seriously thinking about getting a sister for Libby.
Lonnie, doodle personalities are pretty wonderful! We keep thinking about another dog, and all I want is a second doodle..!
Milt is such a great Dood and definitely knows what he likes! Our Libby has two beds and a crate, but she is branching out lately and going for our comfy chairs, rocker, love seat and trying her "hardest" to get in bed with us. These Doods are just so cute and their personalities are amazing. Thanks for always sharing your amazing pictures and "Milt".
Heidi, your pictures are just so cute! Milt is getting SO big and HANDSOME!
I'll tell you Jeff what Milt could ask for..... to sleep in bed with you! hahaha (Our dogs have five dog beds)
Love the photo of his head on your feet in the kitchen. What a love-bug.
Owen prefers the hardwood floors or his bare crate floor to any carpet or bed. Kona likes to cuddle up with something soft.
Aw Milt! You are a lucky dood! Jack curls up on my feet when I am cooking too! He did it as a puppy and a year and a half later, he still does! I'll take it!!
Milt is such a lucky boy! The non carpeted floors, although they are much easier to clean do present other problems. The can be very slick. I find I have a lot of throw rugs down that were specifically put there because of the girls! We also have dog beds all over the house.
What a lucky boy Milt is to have a mommy that would buy him all those special rugs!! By the way, love the purple socks on the green rug!!
