Does your doodle cruise?Going around the house looking for trouble to get into? Quincy is a terrible cruiser, he goes from room to room looking for something to chew or eat. We no longer have throw pillows on the couch, there hasn't been a roll of tiolet tissue on the roll for months. My floor mats are all missing sections of threads and no piece of paper is safe. I have spent a small fortune in "indestructible toys". He really enjoys the real bones that you get at the pet store but we had to stop giving him these as he is damaging his teeth. He is only one year old so he's going to need those teeth for awhile yet. He hasn't destroyed anything of any value and he usually brings the stuff he finds to wherever you are, I guess it's the retreiver in him. The fact that he does this has saved us quite a bit of money in shoes, boots, mittens and possibly vet bills. I am very vigilant and if he leaves the room I check to see what he is up to. Is this the equivalent of the terrible two's? He has all kinds of nylabones and toys but he is a power chewer and nothing lasts for long. It's a good thing I love this doodle so much. He gets lots of exercise and outdoor time. When I am working around the house cleaning and stuff, he usually follows me from room to room and lays down, but the minute I sit down he usually goes into cruising mode. Anyway he keeps me busy and I am never bored, love him more than I ever thought possible and wouldn't trade him for anything. Anybody out there have similar experiences? Will he outgrow this? Having said all this I work full time 12hr shifts and with exercising and grooming other things are not getting done. I would love to have a second doodle, am I nuts? I retire in a couple of years so who knows.

I have a cleptomaniac doodle. He snatches anything that is left within his reach. Good thing is, he doesn't chew stuff up except for paper. He steals, mitts, shoes, socks etc etc. He slobbers all over them and you can usually find your slippers in his bed. I call him my little pirate, he likes to pillage.

Yup Oliver is a cruiser too, if he is not with Ira or me, it is time to go looking...He loves to go and find anything he can get into that he is not supposed to have...If it is quiet, it is time to find him and quickly...He has tons of toys, all over the house, but he gets bored with them, so Moms pjs are better or socks, or whatever, if it can fit in his mouth, he thinks it is for him,,,And we have a 12 1/2 yr old Aussie that has never done this, he just watches him, ya think he would come and find me and tell me Oliver is in trouble again, but no such luck...The only thing that Renny taught Oliver was to bark at anything that moves outside, people, cars, other animals, etc...So yes we have a cruiser that thiks the world is his oyster literally and figuratively....

Both of mine are cruisers. Kona didn't used to be, but her big brother is so good at it, she couldn't help but learn from him! I can see it in his eyes when it starts, checking out the kitchen table, cruising through the bedroom for my night shirt, Oh, is the bathroom door open? Jackpot, dirty tissues!!!!! Kona is the sock stealer, I can't even lay out my clothes before a shower because all my underthings will be in the yard by the time I get out and ready to dress :)

Peri cruises from 8-9 every night. Then she collapses. We think she does it when she is tired - it is pretty hilarious!
Maybe wait til you retire for that 2nd doodle? Then you will have lots of time to cruise with both doods! LOL

Oh yes, quiet is the giveaway. Guinness is usually right by my side...usually trying to climb up on my lap. If he leaves the room and I don't hear anything I know I need to go looking. He's into something. He is a total sneak.

Yep, I have a cruiser too. It is like having a mischeivious child in the house. If Harlow is too quiet you know that she has gotten something she is not supposed to have.
