Does your doodle cruise?Going around the house looking for trouble to get into? Quincy is a terrible cruiser, he goes from room to room looking for something to chew or eat. We no longer have throw pillows on the couch, there hasn't been a roll of tiolet tissue on the roll for months. My floor mats are all missing sections of threads and no piece of paper is safe. I have spent a small fortune in "indestructible toys". He really enjoys the real bones that you get at the pet store but we had to stop giving him these as he is damaging his teeth. He is only one year old so he's going to need those teeth for awhile yet. He hasn't destroyed anything of any value and he usually brings the stuff he finds to wherever you are, I guess it's the retreiver in him. The fact that he does this has saved us quite a bit of money in shoes, boots, mittens and possibly vet bills. I am very vigilant and if he leaves the room I check to see what he is up to. Is this the equivalent of the terrible two's? He has all kinds of nylabones and toys but he is a power chewer and nothing lasts for long. It's a good thing I love this doodle so much. He gets lots of exercise and outdoor time. When I am working around the house cleaning and stuff, he usually follows me from room to room and lays down, but the minute I sit down he usually goes into cruising mode. Anyway he keeps me busy and I am never bored, love him more than I ever thought possible and wouldn't trade him for anything. Anybody out there have similar experiences? Will he outgrow this? Having said all this I work full time 12hr shifts and with exercising and grooming other things are not getting done. I would love to have a second doodle, am I nuts? I retire in a couple of years so who knows.
