Dear Jack

Dear Jack,

I know you can't read literal letters but you have an uncanny way of reading my mind. You know when I feel sad, you come up and lick me in my face (yuck). You know when I need to get my tush up and exercise..you stand by the door for a walk. You know before I do when I am going to get sick. I know you try to warn me. You know when I need a hug. You don't ask anything of me and you don't care if I do everything right.

I could never ever have imagined how much of a hole in my heart you have filled for me. I have always been so sad and felt like I missed out so much by not being able to carry or have children.  You make that void null. You fill it with sunshine. When I get so sick and I can't breathe and I fight to come off oxygen and sometimes life support, I think of you and it makes me want to fight, so we can walk, play and shop together.

So while other mom's are home with their kids filling out Valentine's day cards with their kids. You are here with me, asleep on my lap clueless that Valentines is just one day because every day you fill my life with love, companionship and make me for the first time in  my life feel like a mom.
