Did a meteor land in my yard???

Last night Toby came in from his final evening romp dirty- I mean, multiple doggie wipes could not get him clean enough- twigs, little leaves, tiny branches. Hmmm. What to do? Yes- put on the bathing suit ( me, not the dog) and get him bathed. I am getting better and more proficient with the bathing . Shampoo, conditioner, three towels and one bath cap ( for me again)- we are done. Night night Toby. This morning in the clarity of day light I see WHY he was so filthy. Right in the middle of the yard- a rather large crater, approximately the size of my dog, there in plain sight, with muddy water in the center and the dislodged clumps of dirt around it. Thank goodness hubby not home. Must disguise the crime scene, so there I am at 7:00 am in PJ's and Uggs (yes- I look insane sometimes), picking up clumps of dirt and trying to fill In the hole. While I successfully filled the excavated pit, I now have an obvious patch of missing grass and essentially a mud pit. Not sure what I am more fearful of- Toby jumping back into that pit ( thanks mom- mud!!) or my husband seeing it later ( what the ..,.,TOBY!!). Hopefully hubby will come home late. Must chant mantra- but I love my doggie....but I love my doggie...... Oh dear. Sigh.....

Funny!  I can just see Toby having a marvelous time with his 'meteor strike.'  :)    Oh, those muddy baths!  Hope your hubby was understanding about the new crime scene.  :)

Maybe it was a meteor and Toby was trying to fill it in before you saw it, he just didn't have enough time! Why is it always the dogs fault????
