Labradoodle & Goldendoodle Forum

It's National Puppy Day, so this morning I took some pics of my beautiful, goofy 6 month old australian labradoodle, Atticus. Recently, Atticus has decided that sleeping in the bathtub is preferable to his Orvis bed, or even my bed; he has figured out how to turn the shower knob with his mouth so it drips just a bit, and I find him in the bathtub, sleeping on his back, feet in the air with his head positioned so that is mouth is directly under the "dripping faucet." I tried to get a picture of him sleeping this morning, however, he got up too quickly. I did manage to get some pics of him carrying his toy to the bathtub and lying on the bathroom floor, replete with his toys and his hair sticking straight up!  I live in a NYC apartment where bathrooms are notoriously small, therefore Atticus' rather imposing presence truly challenges access to basics such as the toilet, shower etc; in fact, most of the time getting to the toilet requires an acrobatic move, so as not to disturb my resting doodle.  Just wondering if anyone else's goofy doodle has an affinity for sleeping in the bathtub?

OMD!  That is adorable and soooo smart.  I can't picture my dogs knowing how to turn on a faucet.  We do feed Ned in the shower stall because he likes to be alone.

This is so funny and endearing. What a personality!! My dogs have never attempted a bathtub sleep.

Hopefully he won't learn how to plug the drain and open the faucet more, you'll have a disaster on your hands!

I think the faucet is on slow drip because he can only manage to twist it a little bit...versus the whole way....

I've watched him;he manages the first little twist by placing his mouth around the faucet, and is satisfied when it begins to drip a little.

I cannot even imagine Atticus has figured out the faucet and has it at a slow drip for his convenience! You have got one smart doodle there! Congrats Atticus. You will be doing calculus soon! My dogs sleep on the bathroom tile floors to stay cool. Anyone know how to clean grout well? I've tried every Pinterest option and still can't get the doodle dirt completely out. ;o)

That's such a great puppy story! My two boys follow me right into the shower if I leave the bathroom door open!

Luca used to love to sleep between the toilet and the wall resting his head on the water line. But alas, he grew too big to fit in there.

Crazy Atticus & smart!  The bathroom where Picco gets his bath is the only room he won't follow me into.  He prefers to just wait outside the door, not getting near that tub!

I can just picture Atticus on hi back, in the tub, mouth under the faucet !  What a clown!  Hanna does not sleep in the tub, but she always wants to sleep on the cool tile floor in the master bath as we are getting ready for bed, (2 people, 1 60lb dog, in small master bath...) I just usually end up going across the hall so as not to trip over or step on the princess!
