Who knew I could run a business in my home with two furry four legged creatures as my employed staff?
Who knew I had the pawfect childcare providers already in place?
Well I sure didn’t – at least not until Saturday.
I told The Boys three very special “little people” were coming over and they seemed beside themselves with anticipation. When their guests arrived, it was difficult to determine who was more excited – “them” or THEM…
In an earlier conversation with DH, Leo heard the word “watching” and took it literally. He stalked poor four year old Payton for the first thirty minutes…
He was relentless. He wouldn’t leave her side…
Pawhaps he and Harley could sense she was the youngest in the pack. Between the two of them, the poor girl was never alone. They tag teamed her.
Leo wanted to learn some “Doodle-cool” soccer moves from six year old Xavier….
So Harley jumped on the couch and watched the Disney Channel with Payton…
Now I know I said earlier that there were “three children” coming over – right?
Upon entering the house, five year old Maya wasn’t 100% on board with these “Doodle sitters.”In fact – she spent the better part of the first hour “behind” me in the recliner. And that’s okay. I wanted her to adjust and become comfortable at her own pace.
But when I say she sat “behind” me, I mean just that….
Yet sooner then later, she was off my back (pun intended) and on the floor with everybody else…
Later, Payton elected to be an advocate for Harley – telling me he was hungry…
A pawfect time to make some homemade Yogurt treats we learned about from our furrend: Spencer the Goldendoodle….
Initially our assembly line started out swell…
Then Payton turned “criminal” and started consuming the product…
I had no recourse then but to bust out the “plastic spoons” for Harley & Leo…
We were able to get a few trays into the freezer, before Mom came back…
They all really had a Doodle*tastic time! But saying “goodbye” for Harley was a real struggle…
And that’s when it hit me! I could open up a DOODLE DAYCARE….
But I would definitely have to look into additional staff. Some of us “can’t hang”…
Thanks for reading! Make this the best week of your life, and share some Doodle love along the way….

I couldn't agree with you more!
Love this story! Doodles make such great sitters!
Ms. Ellie, I believe everyone would have a blast, adults too!
Hi Lonnie - how are you? We got more snow yesterday but the weekend was beautiful so no one's depressed! Happy to hear you enjoyed our Saturday morning at Doodle Day Care. It was a lot of fun, and we would welcome the opportunity to have them back again. Thanks for reading :)
Oh Cathy, this just warmed my heart. This by far is the sweetest story and your picutres just make it all come together with love. I loved the recliner moment and can so relate to it with a couple of our grand babies. Leo and Harley are just way toooo human and your better watch out, they just might put up a Day Care sign without you knowing it! Loved this and thanks for a sweet story of love.
