Finally - some socialization...

Abby just turned 6 months on the 14th of March. She has lived such a sheltered life - poor thing. She had never been out of our yard with the exception of the car. She was a fraidy cat of a lot of things outside. Well, Elizabeth, (Sophies Mom) and I were talking here in DK one evening and decided to meet at an area dog park. The dogs had a blast. Abby was sopping wet and dirty and loved every minute of it. She is a social butterfly - and maybe too much so when it came to the people. She wouldn't really jump on them - more like throw herself at their legs and land on their feet. And being a sopping wet puppy, people weren't too happy with her. I need to do some work on that one, but I'm thinking the more she is out and around strangers, the less that will happen. It went so well that we decided to get the girls together again the next day. They did even better than they did the day before. We 4 went for a LOOOONG walk on some trails that wind thru a park. It was so nice. Abby and I both made a new friend.

Sophie LOVES Abby!!! I am excited for Abby's recovery so that they can hang out and run together! Sophie is such a show off in front of little Abby- I really think she's trying to teach Abby things.. sounds silly I know. I have a wonderful time hanging out with you two... It will be even more fun this summer!

Good for Abby! They do always seem the happiest sopping wet and muddy, don't they?!? That's great that she got some socializing, and you did too! Congrats!
