YES!! FIRST PUPPY CLASS WENT SO WELL! I was nervous because Bentley behaves very well during our training at home, but struggles with distractions in public places. His puppy class was small, but there were plenty of distractions. He did the best of the class this week (I'm sure next week will be a different story), probably because of all the time we spend training at home (and the yummy turkey dogs and string cheese his instructor supplied us with for treats!). The instructor was even using him for demonstrations--I was so proud! My brother is in the class too, so it will be interesting to see both of our dogs progress. Bentley's best friend in his class (other than his cousin)..is a huge 6 mo old English Mastiff. He was scared of him at first..but then they played very well together..

We are taking a trip next week for a night maybe 2, and will be boarding him there..I'm glad he'll get 2 puppy classes in to get used to the place beforehand.

So we have an assignment due in a month to teach our dog a new trick that we don't go over in class to show to the rest of the class. Bentley already shakes so I'd kinda like to teach him something different to further develop his skills and give us both something fun to work on...Any Ideas?

The trick we did at the end of class was Lizzie doing high-fives based on which hand you held out. If you held up your right hand she would do her left paw and visa versa. She would switch too. It was really easy to teach!

Great book - Dog Tricks for Dummies.
Bought mine via ebay for $6 with shipping!
High Five I think is the easiest to start with.
We are now working with Bow
Have fun
