First of all, thank you so much for all of the support on our last post regarding our accident. It brought me to tears to see all the support, and had my DH amazed at the outpouring of prayers, etc for us. You all truly have helped us through this.

Well it's been forever since I've been on DK...as life has been quite hectic...just needed to get this out and get some DK support.

Last night, my husband was driving my pup (15 months) to PetSmart as Bentley loves to roam the aisles at PetSmart. A car in front of him rearended the car in front of it...and he slammed on the brakes to prevent getting our brand new SUV in an accident as well....well Bentley fell off his seat... So I just had the worst weekend imaginable at work. I was the charge nurse all weekend, and it was just one bad thing after another..it was a labor & delivery nurse's worst nightmare. I've been a nurse for a year now, and I can honestly say I've had plenty of bad nights, but this one topped them all. So I went home, and slept for a few hours..waking up to Bentley barking for some attention. God bless him for that...kisses and cuddles from him were the best thing I could've asked for to… Continue

Well tonight we have our second week of puppy school..hopefully goes as well as last week..then we are off on vacation for my birthday. We're leaving early in the morning, and my mom's taking Bentley in to get his stitches from his neutering out, and then he's getting boarded for the night/next morning at the place he goes to puppy school. He hopefully will love it there...they get 6 hours of playtime with their buddies in one of 3 areas..his own 40 sq foot room, a bed, his own fleece blanket,… Continue

YES!! FIRST PUPPY CLASS WENT SO WELL! I was nervous because Bentley behaves very well during our training at home, but struggles with distractions in public places. His puppy class was small, but there were plenty of distractions. He did the best of the class this week (I'm sure next week will be a different story), probably because of all the time we spend training at home (and the yummy turkey dogs and string cheese his instructor supplied us with for treats!). Huge sign of relief here...the vet just called and Bentley's neutering went well..he said he is "recovering quietly in his kennel right now" They microchipped and finished his puppy vaccines while he was still under anesthesia (my dog is a huge baby..and cries for like 10 minutes after each shot..it's sad, really..). It ended up being quite expensive ($340!)...but could've been alot worse..got a discount since I've gone to same vet for all puppy visits, etc. Cost me an extra $45 for… Continue

So I was babysitting my nephew at my brother's house yesterday..and had my boyfriend Pat stop over with Bentley. My nephew has a puppy, who is isn't too fond of (golden lab)..but who is alot more hyper than Bentley and bites quite a bit..

At first, the two did not get along..Bentley wanted to jump and play whenever my nephew Grant cried, etc. Then after about 5 minutes, he settled down..and was following Grant around everywhere. Grant was petting him, hugging him, and kissing the dog!… Continue

So this morning, I set out to Target in hopes of finding a costume for Bentley (4 mo) to wear to a halloween party at the local petsmart..there were plenty of cute ones...but we ended up with the shark costume. He loves it..and was prancing around with it on...as an afterthought, I got some pictures...the head piece is a bit big..will have to alter it..…
