First Puppy Kindergarten Class

Toby and I went to our first puppy class on Monday night. Of course, he is the biggest puppy there. There is a beautiful black shepherd who looks to be as big but Toby has the advantage of big hair so he looks even bigger. Lots of basic stuff covered but that's ok. We have seven more weeks (ouch). Should be worth it. At one point he did slip out if my hand and ran in his bouncy prance style to a nearby havenese puppy, the size of a child's hand. Toby just wanted to say hi but could totally understand that little one's complete and utter terror at seeing this giant black bear coming at him. His owner quickly scooped him up so no harm done. I just have to be more careful. Toby is getting bigger and is strong . About 35 pounds right now plus momentum and over eagerness will result in a run away puppy. Someone suggested a harness. Is that in fact better?? Anyway , puppy class was good experience. Let's see how we progress .

Yes- the harness that Lorrie will recommend is a definite yes from our perspective.  Her  price is reasonable, but they do sell at many stores.    At a later class, they will have puppy 'free" time and it is so fun to watch them play! Gentle Leader is the harness.
