Hey, I bet you all have just about given up on me but here I am back doing what I love the most...swimming, playing with my tennis ball and being with my Mom and Dad on outings. It has been a tough 5 months for my Mom with her mother dying, a good friend dying, having an Estate Sale and getting her mother's house ready to sell, a niece getting married, my Dad moving his office home, grandchildren visiting and the various out of town trips where I had to go to the Dog Ranch which normally I love. But geesh...four times! That is a bit much for any Doodle who sleeps on a king size bed, rides in a Doodle Limo and has a house that has no out of bounds...it is MY house...not theirs! So why send me to a ranch??? Well, my Mom and Dad were feeling so badly about again having to leave only this time for 10 days!!! That meant back to the ranch. They have these little noisy, messy people they call grandchildren who live in Boston. Every year during the Fall they go back and take the little noise makers up to Vermont in search of colorful leaves. Only now there are now four of these little people, 7, 5, 3 and 10 months! I would call that a litter! I think they have called it quits on the breeding for good...whew! They were out here in August for 10 days and all they wanted to do was tease me, make a ton of noise and when I go up to lick their dirty faces they scream and run. I just can't figure out why a very tall 73 lb. Doodle with a big pink tongue coming at you would be frightening. All I want to do is love them!!! I am the softest most lovable thing ever...like a huge soft teddy bear. They have their own litters of stuffies that they sleep with every night and they would get mad at me when I would come in to kiss them good night and gently try to remove one of the stuffies. Ewwww...Gracie slobbered on my Froggie...it's all wet! Well, I just don't understand these little people at all but my Mom sure does love them!
Anyway, as I said, my parents were feeling badly about having to send me to the Ranch again so they spent the entire weekend before they left just doing fun stuff with me. They took me to one of my favorite ball chasing spots called Liberty Station. It also has a channel that runs along it which I usually swim in but not this time. But that was OK because they took me to the beach the next day! Here are some photos of my fun weekend. They also said that the next trip they are taking the first week in November I get to go on with them. We are driving up to San Jose to visit my cousin Luna the Ridgeback. Then all of us are going up to Healdsburg (Sonoma Wine Country) for a complete doggie weekend. I hear my Mom talking about how it is a "dog" friendly town and we are staying in a hotel, doing doggie hikes and going to wineries that allow dogs. I am going to have sooo much fun. I will be sure to try to pose for pictures with Luna. I know it is hard for my parents not having all the family here in San Diego. I hear them say they never want to travel again unless Gracie can go with them. They totally miss me too much and they call the Dog Ranch all the time to see how I am doing. But I also know that they will go back to Boston a few times a year and leave me behind. They love those little kids but they also love me so I do understand...even if I like to complain. Now there is a new baby coming but this time in San Jose!! Luna will have a dirty face to lick!!! ha ha
I guess this blog doesn't want to show as many pictures as my mother would like to show. She said she would do a Part 2 which is my beach day!
