Labradoodle & Goldendoodle Forum

Hello All Goldendoodle Lovers!!

There's lots of wonderful and new things happening at GANA!!

Now when you are ready to add a new goldendoodle to your family, we have all available GANA registered puppies listed in one place!! No more searching website after website trying to find that doodle who's been waiting for you to find them. Go to our Puppy Classifieds page to find your puppy!

Remember, when you choose a GANA puppy, you are assured that each breeding dog in that breeder's program has had to pass strict health testing. Each test has to be submitted to the registrar for approval. Someone who understands the testing results has personally looked at each piece of paper on every dog. Our breeders not only "talk the talk" they "walk the walk".

We have our own resident animal trainer who has over 35 years experience!! He has his own forum and will accept your questions and answer them so that all of us can learn how to better train our dogs. FREE!! If you've ever paid for training and advice you know how valuable this service is. Big thanks to Army Maguire. There's already information on crate training, adding a new dog, bone guarding and hyper dog with no manners.

Now for some bragging!! Have you met our Doodles of Distinction? Meet Harvey and Rufus. They are GANA dogs that have earned high achievements. Do you have a GANA Doodle of Distinction? Send your information to our webmaster (silkypup@msn.com) so they can have their own permanent page too.

So come on over and see the exciting additions we've made!!

Not criticism at all, don't think twice about it.. GANA is for breeders and owners, we actually have a lot more owner members than breeders. This group is so dedicated to the breed and we are trying our best to offer more services to both breeders and owners. After all, GD owners are very special people ;-)

We are working hard on obtaining even greater benefits ;-)

Sometimes we just can't win. You were trying to do it 'right' and then get criticized for it. If I knew what GANA was at the outset I would have understood it, but I didn't so misunderstood what you were saying. LOL

The reason I left the active link off was to avoid it being more commercial, this was more of an announcement. I figured those who were interested would make the effort to find us. :)

But I love having the link here too!

Thanks for the clarification.
Lori, perhaps if your post was a little less like an ad and a little more personal.....with a link to the page???

Well...I was okay with this because GANA seems to be attempting to be a true Goldendoodle club the way The Golden Retriever's Club has a club. I think breed specific clubs that set standards and try to do good by a breed are a good idea. Yes, it's mostly breeders behind it, but isn't that the way such breed clubs typically get started? I'm not sure what GANA's future goals and plans are, but I am glad someone started a GANA and hopefully GD's benefit from such an organization. I'm sure they'd be open to suggestion and discussion about what they stand for (either privately or here). But if anyone has opposing thoughts feel free to talk to me or respond here.

I thought the same thing Nancy thought. It does seem like a plug for a breeder referral site. I'll be interested in Adina's clarification.

It's possible that some members are not familiar with what GANA stands for :). It's the initials for Goldendoodle Association of North America a.k.a GANA. Here's the link www.goldendoodleassociation.com .

Thank you Lori for the head's up. I was able to forward the link on to a friend of ours as an additional source of reputable breeders. :)

I've asked Adina for clarification because I don't want to break any rules either. I'm not advertising any dogs, it's just part of the newsletter that this is one new aspect of GANA for the ease of use of the website. This way people don't have to click on each breeder's website and search for information if they are looking for a GANA registered pup.

But it's just part of the excitement of GANA. We have a FABULOUS animal trainer who is giving free advice, and I love free. lol

We also want any GANA dogs who have earned an achievement to be featured on the website. We love hearing great doodle stories and want the world to know how fabulous these dogs are.

Basically, the post I made was to let people know we have expanded at GANA and to have another look if you haven't checked us out in a while. All the best.

Lori, I am sorry if I spoke out of turn. I may not fully understand the rules since I am just a pet owner. Your blog sounds like you are advertising/selling something and I think that is not allowed on the front page. I do know you can post what you want on your own page.

Hi Nancy and Ned, sorry, I'm not a breeder and this information is for owners and goldendoodle lovers. I thought you write on your blog about anything doodle related?
