Getting ready to bring home Rua!

This is my first blog post and I am thrilled to have a place to share my excitement in getting our new puppy. My husband, family and friends are going to be glad that I have found a place to express myself because I am sure I am driving them all crazy right now. Rua (Irish/Gaelic for red-haired) is a F1B Mini Goldendoodle and was born on 7/27/2010. We will pick her up on Friday, 9/24/2010 in Hull IA (150 miles from Omaha).

We have a 9 year old female DLH cat named PuffDog and I have been trying to get things ready so when Rua comes home, she won't associate all of the changes with the new puppy. The crate is in place in the bedroom with a towel and a toy (PuffDog will go in and investigate). The travel kennel is in my office, again with a towel and a toy and the cat climbs in and will lay down in it! So far, so good!

I have food, training treats, Neater Feeder food dish system, pooper scooper, puppy shampoo, lease, ID tags, collar, harness, phooey spray, enzyme cleaner, Bissell Pet Bot carpet cleaner, travel drinking dish, clickers, clicker training book, how-to books, two baby gates, Dremel nail file, toys, squeakers, balls, chew sticks, and I am trying to find a Puppy Scrapbook!

And, oh, did I mention I just got a brand new 2010 Honda CR-V to be able to drive her around in!

Congratulations. You really are in the right place - we on doodlekisses are just slightly doodle obsessed and our friends and famllies can only take so much! We have all discussed the twelve step program - but we just don't care to get over our addiction.

Congratulations! So excited for you and can't wait to see some pictures of Rua on homecoming day. Sounds like you've got just about every thing. Don't forget ear care supplies.... and whatever your person vice is when you are a bit sleep deprived - coffee, diet coke, etc. She'll be home before you know it!

I could totally tell by your picture that your puppy was from the same breader as me too! Reese's father was moon and mother was Sandy- We got Reese last summer and love her to death. They are great dogs-- enjoy!

Wow! you are ready. I'm a little jealous about both the puppy and the CRV. Be ready for less sleep and possibly a little weight loss (temporary) when you forget to eat. Good luck, looking forward to pictures of the new addition.
